                                            I have been going to Yank Sing since I was a kid in the 80s and it is my favorite restaurant. However if it was my first time I would tell folks to stir clear of the Rincon location. We were not served we had to flag someone down for water and tea after sitting for a while. There was very little cart service and they were out of major items. They advertise baked pork buns which is one reason I went to this location on this day and though they only serve this item on weekends they won’t serve on a holiday weekend. Their reasoning is that it is a very popular item that people come there for, any reasonable person would then make sure it is on the menu all the time! The food was cold and we had the worst honey walnut prawns I have ever had, we actually ended up leaving two thirds on the plate. They had a huge line but the tables around us were dirty the entire time we were there. I still love Yank Sing but you are better going off to the Stevenson Alley location, you will get the true dim sum experience.

                                            The service was awful. We were not greeted, asked about drinks, or given a high chair after we requested. We had to order food 3 times for it to come. They also pack you in like sardines, too many tables. The cart workers were rude when we asked questions.

                                            We have been going here for 35 years and it is always delicious and fun! The best dim sum I have had anywhere. Highly recommend the steamed dumplings, sticky rice and pork buns.

                                            Our visit was just as we remember. My daughter wanted to go because we visited as a family. Her flight was very delayed coming into SFO. We showed up 30 min late, and they warmly welcomed us. We knew we had to eat fast and didn’t want to be a burden, but had been looking forward to this meal for a long time. They made the day special, even though we were delayed in arriving. Thank you!

                                            We have been to Yank Sing probably a hundred times over the years and it has gone downhill recently. Yesterday's service was terrible. The food was good, but very little of it came around, nobody approached our table to offer drinks or even bring dim sum. We had to flag the servers down. They were rushing around not making eye contact with the customers. We would have ordered a lot more food if we were given the opportunity. Finally we got frustrated and hunted someone down to give us a check. Disappointing experience. Perhaps they were understaffed over the holidays, but then they shouldn't accept as many reservations or seat as many people if they are unable to appropriately serve them.

                                            We were seated when everyone in our party arrived and three food carts came at the same time to our table. I would have appreciated that they come one at a time to make it less confusing to order. Then when we needed more food we had to wait awhile till another cart appeared. After we had eaten the majority of the food, no one came to clear the bamboo dishes for a long time. The food was delicious but the service was spotty.

                                            The steam carts are so welcome - much better than ordering off a menu. The dumplings are translucent, the seafood fresh and in delectable chunks. The sauces are made by the restaurant and far better than the ones from a jar. The sesame balls are a perfect ending to an exquisite dim sum experience!

                                            We always love dining at Yank Sing. They can accommodate allergies and the staff is friendly. This is our favorite steamed pork bun in town and they have a new-ish spinach dumpling dish that is amazing.
