                                                                            I had not visited Wildfire in a long while and the last time I brought my mother, my father was still alive. I treated her to Christmas Eve late lunch/early dinner and we were the first ones there when they opened. The host/manager saw that my mother was struggling to sit on a stool and immediately took us to our table, although he warned us that it would be a few minutes before our server would stop by. Of course, we did not care as we just appreciated him letting us in a few minutes early. Our server, Olivia, was one of the sweetest I have encountered in a while. She was so lovely and loved the mother/daughter interactions. My mother loved her meal so much, specifically the chopped salad (but also the crab cakes, broccoli, and BBQ sweet potato), that she requested to return for her birthday in two weeks when she turns 85. I'm blessed to have her, but also grateful for stellar staff like the crew at Wildfire Chicago.

                                                                            We used to come every wedding anniversary. Haven’t in a few years and I remember why now. Made reso at 8:15, when we sat down before the waiter even said anything about drinks or specials she said the “ welcome in, the kitchen closed in 15 mins”. Felt VERY rushed, like we were inconveniencing them by being there. Tell me how I was suppose to enjoy a $200 dinner in 30 mins. Overall just not checked on, not worth the time. Then the QR code check so we just checked ourselves out. Won’t be coming back (ever). It’s the end of an era.

Water glasses never refilled, table was not cleaned after dishes were taken away, empty drink glasses never taken away. Mistakes on the bill. We were charged $4.00 more than price on menu. We told server and he deducted $2.00. After talking to manager, he said the extra $2.00 was for the baked potato. Our server never told us the potato was extra. We didn't mind paying for it, but we should have been told.

                                                                            Food is pricey and forgettable, but adequate. Our server vanished after our entrees came. We were seated at a table directly next to the kitchen, which essentially functioned as a hallway, and the staff were constantly running back and forth behind us with trays etc, which isn’t really enjoyable and there probably just shouldn’t be a table there. Drinks were good though!

                                                                            Someone in our party got the filet with Parmesan crust. First came out over cooked with no flavor. They got him another one that came out blue. He asked for a medium rare. Steak had no flavor besides the parm crust. Half the table ordered baked potato’s but they had run out.

                                                                            Terrible service. We barely saw our server. We ordered the cookie skillet dessert and it was burnt. We have loved Wildfire for over 20 years, but will be hesitant to return.
