Vallozzi's started over 50 years ago when Helen Vallozzi was selling homemade pastas out of her home. Helen opened a take out restaurant in Latrobe, PA a few years later where her popularity exploded. In 1977, Ernie Vallozzi moved his mothers location to Greensburg where it is still open and operating today. In 2012 Ernie's son Julian expanded the tradition in to downtown Pittsburgh. Vallozzi's Pittsburgh has recently joined a mere 1,200 restaurants worldwide as a recipient of the Wine Spectator Magazine's Best of Award of Excellence and is the only Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh to receive such an honor. We can host your intimate date, family dinner, business meetings, or larger parties in our banquet room. Or come enjoy a specially made cocktail in our bar area and a small bite.

                                                                            Totally worth it and fabulous! We had a family celebration there and it exceeded our expectations. Ten dollars for the valet service was a nice option and thankfully we had some cash on us.

                                                                            We enjoyed a good visit to this popular spot that is close to Heinz Hall. Service was pleasant and efficient. Food was very good. Both of us had Caesar salad then a Sicilian pizza and chicken parm. Both very tasty. This visit was far better than our last one when we had extremely long waits and had to take our entrees to go.

                                                                            We had a 5:45 dinner reservation and decided to arrive at 5:00 for happy hour wine. We arrived at 5:00, a note on the door said lounge was closed for a private party. I asked if we could have happy hour wine at our table if we stay and be seated early. Said no. Only in bar and it's not available tonight. We thought that was inconsiderate. Only 2 tables occupied in dining room. Would have been an easy solution to make everyone happy. Otherwise, I had Fruit demer, my wife, rigatoni. Food excellent, service excellent. Had a bottle of wine which went well with dinner.

                                                                            Very enjoyable, referred by a relative from the Burg. Nice variety, somewhat limited in traditional Italian cuisine, yet what the prepare is truly a delight. Good wine selection as well as salads. Really enjoyed the Parma salad, the Caesar w/ anchovy was somewhat overbearing.
