Trattoria Il Mulino, the acclaimed casual chic restaurant concept from iconic Il Mulino New York, debuts its fourth trattoria location in downtown Nashville. Guests will enjoy traditional Italian cuisine from the Abruzzo region of Italy under the direction of Il Mulino New York’s Executive Chef Michele Mazza with Chef Konstantin Rubis, adding Nashville influences to the menu.

Menu categories will include soups, salads and antipasti; salumi and cheeses; premium vegetables; wood-fired pizzas; pasta, seafood and steak entrees; and dessert.

The restaurant centerpiece is the signature hand crafted glass paneled wine cabinet, featuring a curated selection of over 350 wine labels from around the world. The restaurant also has a spacious patio on 5th Ave for enjoying al fresco dining.

We truly enjoy our experience here every time we go. It is one of our favorite restaurants in downtown Nashville. The staff is excellent and so pleasant. Food is wonderful and the cocktails are out of this world!

The service was outstanding. The salads were not fresh. The salmon was not a good quality cut. Risotto was sticky but had a good flavor. Chicken parm was just ok nothing special as far as flavor. I have eaten here before and it was much better then.

Service was great as usual. We had the Brussels for an appetizer and shared the chicken parmigiana and lasagna. Everything was delicious. Great Italian downtown.

overall, it was a decent experience Service was definitely the highlight—friendly, attentive, and well-paced. No complaints there. The food, unfortunately, didn’t quite live up to the same standard. It wasn’t bad by any means, but it lacked that punch of flavor you hope for with Italian cuisine. With a few minor tweaks—like a touch more seasoning or better balance in the sauces—it could’ve been much better. We started with the calamari, which was a disappointment. It came out overcooked, dry, and chewy—definitely not the crispy, tender starter we were hoping for. As for value, it felt a bit steep for what we got. Not outrageous, but given the just-okay food, it didn’t feel like a great deal either. All in all, it’s not a bad place, but with a little more attention to the kitchen, it could be a lot better.

Nice try. This is an Italian restaurant only in name. The food is well below average. Soggy, oily, greasy, tasteless. You really need to rethink your food preparation and presentation. Very amateur and just not enjoyable all around. Won’t come Back. Won’t recommend.
