Located in the heart of beautiful downtown Canmore, Alberta The Wood Restaurant and Lounge offers casual dining with attentive and friendly service. Our menu features Alberta beef steaks, homemade burgers, and a wide selection of sandwiches and amazing salads, gluten free and vegan options, and a kids menu featuring pigs in pretzel buns and kids chicken fingers.

The Wood Restaurant and Lounge is located in the log building at the corner of Main Street and 8th Avenue in Canmore and offers breathtaking views from the best patio in town. The lounge offers 24 draft beers on tap, a wine list with 30 wines from 30 vines, our signature and seasonal cocktail list including our famous peach bellini. Eight big screen televisions offer up all the big sporting events. Free wireless internet is available throughout, including the 130 seat patio......which offers great views of the local mountains.

Booked for Christmas Eve , really lovely and efficient waitress. Food was good , wine lovely. Its a like expensive for what it is but overall a solid 7.5

Service was horribly slow due to lack of staff not our servers fault. Food was only mediocre because it wasn’t hot when it came out. The herald pretty disappointed with our experience.

Great view, service and food was delicious, however our red onion request to leave off our plates was not attended to. When I then asked if something had red onion in it, I was told no by the server - only to discover it in the dish. If you have allergies be sure you repeat it a few times!

The food was lovely and the service was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our first experience at the restaurant, for my wife’s birthday. A complementary desert was also provided, which was a lovely finishing touch. Writing ‘Happy Birthday’ in chocolate sauce on the serving plate was a fantastic idea! Many thanks to your serving staff and chefs for a great lunch.

Great value, really good food, nice ambience especially the bar area . VERY PLEASANT STAFF . It is hard to find reasonably priced restaurants in Canmore that serve great food but this is one . A bonus is limited free parking at the rear of the building.

A true disappointment. We went there for our anniversary dinner based off previous reviews and from the time we walked in, it failed to live up to the reviews. The drinks we ordered were bad as in they had barely any flavor and barely any alcohol, even though we ordered doubles. The steaks were tough and fatty, and everything else on our plate just seemed so thoughtlessly prepared. Also, our order came out about 5 minutes after we placed it which showed by how wilted and soggy the vegetables were, as they we probably prepared earlier and we reheated for our meal. And about our anniversary…we entered this info in our Open Table reservation, but not a mention about it, which is fine, but then why ask. Hopefully this was just an unlucky night and their usual service is much better, but on this night, we left disappointed.
