Located in downtown Old Worthington, The Whitney House serves made from scratch, refined yet rustic, American comfort food. We utilize fresh and local ingredients and constantly look for new and innovative ways to serve our community.

The Whitney House pays homage to the homes and kitchens in our past that welcomed all, treated everyone like family and offered drinks and food made with love.

We opened the Whitney House because we love our mothers. Our menu is based on the glory days of Sunday dinners when the entire family would pile into the dining room (and the living room if we ran out of chairs) to sit, catch up and enjoy a delicious meal together.

We want for you to feel at home when you stop by the Whitney House. We are looking forward to serving you!

We offer Happy Hour Tuesday-Friday 4-6pm in our Tavern

Our patio is open and is sat on a first come, first serve basis and weather permitting.

    Over all our experience was pleasant. The 7:00 hour is crush! Reservations are 100% must. Space is lacking in general as in there is not a lot in either the dining room or bar so if cozy is not your thing lunch or brunch.

    Mike in the bar was amazing! Great drinks and attentiveness. Food was adequate. Apps and entrees not hot and fries seemed like they set too long. Overall would return tho.

    Beautiful restaurant, great service, always enjoy half price wine on Thursdays. Food last night was good, not great, cost seems high for food quality.

    The server in Tavern was way overloaded. Hostess or Mgr needs to ensure or provide help when Tavern is 2/3rd packed w Other 1 server that is also serving as main bartender for entire restaurant. Server was pleasant just overloaded.

    The restaurant is beautiful during Christmas time with the view of downtown Worthington, if you can score a table by the window. Be sure to get the whipped goat cheese appetizer.

    We arrived at 5:25 for 5:30 reservation. We were greeted and told there would be a 15 minute wait. My 93 year old mother was standing there with a walker, and I told them she would require a chair for that long of a wait. The hostess said she would get one. Did not happen. Finally, we asked the front house manager for a chair, and she promptly and apologetically brought one. We were seated in a spacious booth in the back room. The server was outstanding! She was prompt and checked in with just the right frequency. Everyone loved the food: beet salad, salmon, gnocchi, and fish sandwich. The noise level made conversation across the large table nearly impossible. People were certainly feeling festive. We will definitely return. It is a very accessible facility, with spacious restrooms, for those with mobility challenges. Be sure to decline high top seating when reserving table.
