Located in downtown Old Worthington, The Whitney House serves made from scratch, refined yet rustic, American comfort food. We utilize fresh and local ingredients and constantly look for new and innovative ways to serve our community.

The Whitney House pays homage to the homes and kitchens in our past that welcomed all, treated everyone like family and offered drinks and food made with love.

We opened the Whitney House because we love our mothers. Our menu is based on the glory days of Sunday dinners when the entire family would pile into the dining room (and the living room if we ran out of chairs) to sit, catch up and enjoy a delicious meal together.

We want for you to feel at home when you stop by the Whitney House. We are looking forward to serving you!

We offer Happy Hour Tuesday-Friday 4-6pm in our Tavern

Our patio is open and is sat on a first come, first serve basis and weather permitting.

    Loved our brunch here with the exception of the service. The bartender I believe was our sever, but as they became busier, we were very neglected. We were having to flag down other severs to get drink refills, sauces, etc.

    Service was a bit slow especially checking back on drinks but they were full. We were disappointed they don’t do the short rib on Saturday any longer. Appetizers were great.

    My wife and I were looking for a cozy restaurant on a cold December Wednesday night. We had not been to the Whitney House in a couple years and maybe not in winter. Food was excellent across the board. Main dining room was noisy however which fails in the cozy department. Also no fireplace which really would up the cozy factor. Room was on the extra warm side though, so that counts. We made a 7pm reservation (as did 3 other parties), however we all had to wait about 10-15 minutes for a table, by the door--not cozy. Service was friendly, helpful and prompt. Next time we may see if eating in the bar is cozier and quieter

    Burger was extraordinary. We came in at 9 on a Saturday night with reservations and did feel a little rushed to leave since we were the only ones there. I get it, but for 2 burgers with fries and 2 cocktails for $70, I don't want to feel rushed out.
