Nice interiors but there wasn’t much ambience and it was very loud (acoustics weren’t great). The meal was expensive - high quality food overall but I had the paneer and cauliflower curry which I found disappointing, as it lacked sauce and tasted dry, plus a very small portion. I left hungry :( My friend ordered the deer which was great though.

Arrived early and was told table not ready and suggested I go round the corner to a local pub to wait as they can't accommodate at the bar. Fair enough but a little odd. Was quite noisy and table we were given was in a very narrow walk through to upstairs bar . Constantly people squeezing by . Food was nice enough to be fair but beef was limited and very fatty . The potatoes were very hard and there was only three pieces !!! Is just a place I ate once , nothing special about it and won't return .

Good portion size, roasties were good but perhaps lacked a little crunch. Good selection of vegetables although there was nothing fresh as all had been heavily seasoned and braised with either butter or oil. The meat could have been more thinly sliced but that's a personal preference and the yorkshire pudding was a touch overdone. The gravy was good. The horseradish creme fraiche was not quite punchy enough for my liking. I had a glass of an excellent chianti rufina that went very well. Was it the best roast I've had in London, no, but it was good enough that I'd go again.

My fourth time for Sunday roast. Food good as always but table sorely neglected by staff (entrées came immediately, mains - which were roast so clearly ready - over an hour later, after two reminders). Will be my last time.

We had a great Sunday roast. Our expectations were exceeded on a few levels. The table upstairs was the perfect placement, the service and wine great but especially we enjoyed all our 3 courses. Usually 3 courses is too much for us but the food was so good, we wanted the full experience. Plus the Beaujolais Villages was chilled - went perfectly with my roast beef. I asked for my beef to be medium and it came out perfect. The last few roasts we’ve had in various different places have been average but this was well above average. A special shout out to the staff who were really great, very welcoming and totally on the ball. Offering extra gravy before even being asked is an extra point. Great job guys.

It's a generally quiet pub, but a lovely ambiance and I've never understood why it's not busier. Eaten here twice in as many weeks and think the food is great and service wonderful. Great owners that understand the punter. The food is more fancy and minimal that your typical pub grub, but for a semi smart business meal it's absolutely perfect. I feel this is the target market.

Princess of shoreditch serves an outstanding Sunday roast. Juicy chicken and tender beef, crispy Yorkshire pudding, and flavorful veggies all brought together with their amazing gravy!! Very cute inside and the kind staff add to the atmosphere. A must visit for a classic London pub experience !!
