The Old Inn is a traditional country pub in the heart of the idyllic village of Holt. Situated close to the historic town of Wimborne Minster, The Old Inn is the perfect destination when you fancy a homemade, traditional pub meal. With real fires, a beautiful garden and fantastic service, this pub is definitely worth a visit. We have worked hard to put together a menu that offers something for everyone. Everything is freshly prepared at the Old Inn, from our Chicken Liver paté, to children’s chicken nuggets. We pride ourselves that all of our meals are traditionally cooked using largely locally sourced ingredients and our seasonal specials are definitely worth looking at too, as well as our delicious desserts! We aim to provide a prompt, efficient and friendly service and we can cater for all types of parties.

                                                                                                Unfortunately this time it wasn’t for us we had a roast for the first time …. It just wasn’t good ! Meat and Yorkshire good but potatoes veg gravy awful all 4 of us had the same review which is really disappointing we all had one drink a roast and desert for 217 and for it just not be good is so disappointing! Had this been the food we thought the money wouldn’t be an issue but for everyone coming away massively underwhelmed it’s a shame,

                                                                                                I am sorry we did not meet your expectations and you left disappointed. We serve over 200 roasts a week and are generally full every Sunday. The chefs take a lot of pride in preparing Sunday roasts as they are so popular. The roasts potatoes are cooked in goose fat and our gravy is homemade from the stock of roasting the bones on a weekly basis. We serve homemade turkey gravy with the turkey, homemade beef gravy with the beef and homemade lamb gravy with the lamb. My wife takes great pride in her sauces and gravies and always tasting them until they are spot on. Not many places do this. As you had different roasts surprised you all had the same feedback. With the cauliflower cheese we use strong mature cheddar in the sauce, again to make it tasty. Have a good Christmas.

                                                                                                Lovely local cosy pub. Great service and atmosphere. Very Christmassy. Food good but vegetables could be more interesting. Just peas with pie. Always good vegetarian/vegan choices.

                                                                                                There is always a smiling friendly welcome from Connor and his team. We got the table we requested in the main restaurant and close to the warm woodburner. Great variety of food and drinks on offer for lunch and all reasonably priced. The Xmas trees were all sparkly giving a lovely festive atmosphere.

Everything was perfect, from the decor, the staff the ambience and well, the food was incredible! Would highly recommend to everyone I know.
