   We came early to experience "the Ojai pink moment" when the mountains turn pink just before the sun sets. It was so beautiful! Along with all those swaying, lighted lanterns in the old oak tree, roaring fires along the slope of the lawn firepits , twinkling lights everywhere & happy crowds... What a wonderful ambiance! We sat by a cozy fireplace indoors first to stay warm & enjoy champagne & nibbles while awaiting our table on The Oak terrace. When seated, we had the perfect view & our meal lived up to the rest of the experience. We shared two entrees that seemed perfect for the cold night. Perfectly braised diver Scallops with puree of Butternut Squash & Pappardelle with Duck & mixed Mushrooms. Our dessert was a lovely not too sweet Panna Cotta embellished with a few perfect berries & coulis. Afterwards, we stopped at a beautiful fireplace set into the walls along out pathway to the car for just a few more moments in order to savor the bright warmth of the fire, the dark skies full of sparkling stars & our great good fortune to be right there at that moment in time. Thank you to Ojai Valley Inn for such a memorable evening!

   The Oak (and the bar area inside) are gorgeous four star establishments. On a night that didn’t seem totally packed the service was pretty awful, especially considering the prices. Very slow and inattentive. But when the food did arrive it was delicious.

   Food was delicious. Beautiful view. Very friendly staff. Only problem, not in their control was a rude family with a little dog that barked through the entire meal. If the dog was not there, it would have been perfect!

   What a wonderful brunch for a birthday celebration. The Blue-Grass band was excellent! Brunch food selection was great and well kept be the staff. Our server, “Kate” was exceptional, courteous, non-intrusive but efficient. We will definitely brunch here again. Oh, and the view of the mountains -Stunning!

   While the location and ambience were wonderful we were extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. The salad dressing was watery, the chicken bites were hard/overcooked, the lasagna sauce overwhelmed the dish. The wine and rolls were great. I don't think this had anything to do with what we ordered as these dishes should have been easy enough to prepare. Also, would have liked a greater menu selection.
