The restaurant was pretty quiet for a Saturday evening, but we enjoyed our meal. We were seated in the main dining room & the excessive amount of television detracted from the ambience, but the food was delicious & service was great!

Great place to grab a cocktail, an appetizer, and an entree before heading to the MN Orchestra, about a block away. Food & drink were very tasty and Service was very courteous.

My husband and I went to The Newsroom before a concert at MN Orchestra...our reservations were for 5:30 - and the concert (around the corner) was at 7:00. Everything about our dinner was perfect...the atmosphere - the service - the food - the drinks - the prices - the timing. We have already decided this is our "goto" pre-concert restaurant. GREAT experience.

First time there, and it was overall great! Our waitress greeted us a little late due to being late for work. The food mad up for it. The shrimp pene pasta and wings were GREAT! The waitress did end up doing a great job.

We chose News Room as it was close to Orchestra Hall. We were a bit pressed for time because the valet parking at Orchestra Hall opened at 5:30 for a 7:00 show. We got to News Room about 5:40 pm, five minutes ahead of our reservation time. We were quickly seated. It took our server a bit before she came for a drink order- maybe 5 minutes, but she was very pleasant and efficient after that small delay. We ordered three appetizers to share (two people) It seemed like it took quite a bit of time to get them. The Shrimp Mac was delicious. The potato croquettes were not hot or even warm, and also pretty bland. The Margherita Flatbread was burned. We did not say anything to the server as we did not have time to send back the dishes, but I probably would not go there again, considering all the other options in downtown. However, I do realize that we had a short time frame to get some food consumed, so that skewed our perception somewhat. (But the croquettes were still not warm and the flatbread was still burned)

Food was alright, got charged extra money for syrup for pancakes (that came with the dish we did not ask for extra). Food was alright but over priced for breakfast, especially the coffee.

Fun atmosphere. We've been going to the News Room since it opened a long time ago. The service was a bit slow tonight, not the server, but the food. Otherwise it was great as always
