Our larger spaces are located in the upstairs portion of our restaurant, and our Wine Room is located on the main floor.

    The Local has been hosting graduates and their families for years, with a focus on style and comfort. Located in the heart of Belmont, and our expert team will make your celebration a night to remember. The cost is $65 per person before tax & gratuity. Our regular menu is not offered during graduation weekend. We require a credit card on file to hold your reservation. We will not charge anything to your card now, it's simply our way of holding your reservation. Cancellations after March 1st will result in a $20 per person fee to the credit card provided.     The Local’s rustic front room, consistently excellent food, and warm and friendly staff make it a dream come true. A warning! Parking can be challenging!

    Great food, very good service, and wonderful ambiance. The Local had multiple entrees for our table; the steak frites and the pork chops were big hits. We also enjoyed several deserts, including the cobbler and the chocolate pecan pie. We would go again & highly recommend !

    Wonderful, tasty food! Good variety on the menu. Seating was a little uncomfortable, hard seats, stiff backed chairs. We were upstairs and it was quiet enough and warm enough (November) until someone came thru the door and our table was right there. Lots of noise from below while a manager was showing someone around and they failed to close the door for at least 10 minutes. Finally a waitress came thru and closed it. Our waitress Claudia was excellent. She was attentive, very observant, and had a smile that lit the room, as well as a personality to go with it!

    We chose The Local to have our 39th wedding anniversary dinner. We made reservations and were taken straight away to our table and service was immediate. Our waiter was Patrick who was outstanding in everyway. We ordered the salmon entree and the meatloaf entree for our dinners. They arrived quickly, however both dishes were not hot - they were closer to being luke warm - boarding on cold. Not ones to complain, we finished our meals and were greeted by Patrick with two glasses of Prosecco which was a nice surprise. Finished with the recommended cheesecake that was awesome. We would recommend this restaurant to others - but insist that your food arrive hot!

    We had a great experience visiting The Local. We loved the different menu options and unique flavor pairings that were offered. Our server was kind, knowledgeable and happy to check with the chef on ingredients. I am looking forward to returning during our next visit to Charlottesville.

    Perfect place for a date night. Ambiance was great though music was a bit loud at times. Food was incredible and generous portions. Service was fantastic, attentive yet not invasive.

    Good but not great! Service and ambiance were fine and our waiter was attentive and helpful. Short ribs were tender but tasteless and only luke warm. Rockfish was great but sticky rice was unaccountably sweet which clashed with the fish. Unclear why rice or rockfish required a sweet flavor.
