   We had a great Valentines dinner here. Our table was outside in front of the warm fireplace. I don’t even need to wear a jacket. Great service and delicious food!

   Wonderful way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Both the service and cuisine were excellent. Pricy but worth it!

   Once again the Gruene Door was an exceptional experience. The food was scrumptious. I had the beef tip pasta, very delicious. The meet was tender and the mushrooms gave it a great flavor. For dessert we had the bread pudding which was wonderful. Loved the smooth jazz that played in the background. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. A wonder birthday celebration.

   Robert was our server. Didn’t mention evening specials or his name at first. Didn’t ask if it was a special occasion. Very dry personality. Out of wine on the list. Didn’t ask about soup or salad. Won’t be back.

   We had reservations to celebrate my wife's birthday. We invited another couple to share in the celebration. When we arrived we were greeted immediately and warmly by the hostess who seated us at a great table. The server came out right away and took our drink orders. The drinks arrived and were all spot on! Orders were taken and the food arrived in a very reasonable amount of time, giving us time to chat and enjoy our drinks without feeling rushed. Everyone raved about the quality and presentation of each dish. we didn't do appetizers wanting to save room for the delicious desserts we saw as we passed by another table on the way in. Portions were appropriate and left us feeling like the value was certainly there. The bread pudding and creme brule were excellent and finished off an incredible meal and outstanding evening. We will most certainly be back soon.

   The ribeye steak was one of the best I’ve ever had. It seriously rivaled Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. I look forward to going back again.

   The blackened shrimp with street corn risotto was amazing! The bruschetta is a must as well! Jeff, or waiter was charming.

   We have eaten there many times - always great service and food. Last night our waiter forgot to place our appetizer order - after about 30 minutes I asked about it- then my husband order chicken piccata and asked for no green beans - but roasted potatoes. Green beans were on his plate and he asked the waiter who said he would get the potatoes. We all had finished eating by the time the potatoes showed up. Very frustrating last night .

    We opted to eat in the bar area which was nice and accommodating. We were the only people in there at the time since they had just started dinner service. The bar slowly filled but but the noise level never rose above a murmur and we were able to easily continue our conversation without interruption. The service was excellent. The table was cleared when dishes were done and our drinks were never empty for too long. The food was on point. We both opted for the steaks (tenderloin and ribeye) which came with garlic mashed potatoes and grilled broccoli (seasonal vegetable). The steaks flavor was just what you would want it to be and the grilled broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes complemented then perfectly. The steaks were supposed to be medium for the tenderloin and medium rare for the ribeye but they both went a little past temperature. The tenderloin was medium well and the ribeye was medium. This did not take anything away for the flavor but the outer crust on the tenderloin was a bit charred. Again, the steaks tasted great and I would absolutely order them again. Overall, our experience was very enjoyable and the atmosphere made it feel like a true grownup night out.
