   The Gafford has never once disappointed. It is our "go to" with visitors, and friends. A drink in the bar area then off to a table. Each and every server, waiter/waitress, bar maid, bartender, hostess, etc., ANY staff goes above and beyond. The food is superb! Combinations, choices, are all tastefully combined.

   I have been to the Gafford many times before but the menu was very limited Saturday night. There was not much that appealed to me. There were no special . I ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer thinking they were $15 and ordered the soup of the day. The soup was delicious but the cakes were very average. I was charged $28 for the crab cakes and they had no sides. Apparently I was given the happy hour menu which was no longer in effect. The pork chop was ordered by my husband which he usually loves but this time the chop seemed much smaller and not as tasty. Big disappointment especially when the bill came.

   We loved the food, in particular the tuna appetizer. Patrick was a great waiter.

   My husband and I were seated at 5:25PM as we had a show at the Lyric at 7:30PM. At 7:12PM we still had not received our dinners. The waitress said the kitchen was busy however I am sure the mix up was her fault. We had split a salad and she said she put the dinner ticket in after we finished the salad. The question is how much longer after????? We finished our salad at 6:00PM. It spoiled the evening as we had to go to the show without eating. We paid for our salad and left. We will go to other shows at the Lyric and we will enjoy a dinner at a downtown Stuart restaurant but it will never again be at The Gafford.

   Delicious Shortribs and Swordfish but fish was not warm enough. Sides very nice. Beautiful presentation on both dishes. Caesar Salad although plentiful lacked in flavor, more garlic and salt please.Good selection of wines. Service attentive.

   Our server Patrick was attentive and very good. Two of us ordered Scottish Salmon over rice with choices of a garlic butter sauce or a jalapeño bbq sauce. One was ordered well done with the garlic butter sauce. She thought the salmon was tasteless. I ordered the salmon rare with both sauces on the side. My salmon was good and the garlic butter sauce was incredible. The Jalapeño sauce was fine. Sweet Corn Risotto was ordered by another and he said it was okay. My husband ordered the 8oz. Beef Filet Mignon very rare but not bloody. It came medium well to well done. He had a few bites and didn’t eat it. Our waiter offered to get him another one, but my husband said no. Patrick was apologetic and wanted to make it right. We also ordered the Strawberry Shortcake Creme Brûlée. It was served in a deep ramekin and I prefer it served in a short low and long ramekin so there is more surface and the main reason I order Crème Brûlée. It was fine, the custard was good and the burnt sugar on top was done nicely. We had a great night. Service was terrific, we could hear each other at our table and we were well attended to. Patrick removed the charge for the filet from our bill. As I said, he was a great server, very attentive and accommodating. 5 Stars to Patrick.

   We keep coming back because of the food and service. It’s just always delicious meals served in very good portions that we’ve found hard to beat! And the whole crew is friendly and welcoming.

   Nice overall experience - food was good. Wait staff formal in a good way- but a bit cold and not personable. We were celebrating our anniversary and mentioned that when making reservations online. There was a congratulatory card on our table- but no mention of that by anyone. Ambience average but food was good and better than most places around Stuart area. One and done for us- wish them the best.

   It’s always good! We went during the week, the place gets busy so make reservations. We were seated right away and our waitress came over and took care of us all night. The food was very good. I had the crab cakes and my wife a salad for appetizers. For the main course I had the Mabel’s chicken and my wife had the halibut special. Both were very good. We were stuffed after that so we passed on dessert. The wait staff was very attentive. Prices are good, you pay a bit more but quality and service are excellent. I’m coming back again.

    The Gafford is our local “go to” for a predictably great experience. This time was no different. From the apps to the dinner to the service, everything was spot on.
