The Dutch never disappoints. My daughter & I go to NYC every fall and it’s always on our reservation list for brunch. Always one of the best! The cornmeal flapjacks are a must as well as the biscuits with butter and honey to start.

Service was extremely slow. Took 45 minutes for our drinks to arrive and even longer for the second round. When we addressed how long it had been taking, our server was extremely curt and did nothing to remedy the situation. I am typically sympathetic, however, the service we were met with was too disappointing not to review.

We waited for over 25 minutes with a reservation and when we finally got seated, we were placed at a very uncomfortable table were the waiters had to constantly push our chairs in when they passed by. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the burger without the bun and I received a cold, hard piece of meat with some sort of hardened cheese on top. It came without any condiments, not even a tomato slice or a pickle. We ordered the deviled eggs as an appetizer and none of us could eat them because they tasted stale and bad. My friend ordered the fried chicken which was a bit bland, but ok. The wine list is comprised of cheap Californian wines, that have the price of a good Barolo in other neighborhood restaurants close to the Dutch. The service was terrible, as the waitress constantly admonished us for being in her way because there was no room to move around our table. I understand that it can be busy on a Saturday night, and the restaurant makes up seating that is not really supposed to be there; but it is the responsibility of the restaurant to only take as many reservations as they can accommodate and not make its patrons feel guilty for the lack of space. They certainly do call, text and email you to confirm the reservation more than other restaurants do. With so many excellent restaurants in the neighborhood, that have delicious food and impeccable service, I don’t think we will ever go back to the Dutch. It is nothing but an overpriced tourist trap!

Great service, good food and nice ambiance. We loved the fact that it was not too noisy. We were a group of friends and we were able to have a conversation.
