The Cellar at Duckworth’s combines gastropub fare from our chef-driven menu, with a tap list of specialty and rare beers served at appropriate temperatures to their styles, and signature cocktails that are hand crafted to order by our mixologists. Inspired by an era of time that’s long past, the underground space built originally in 1912, naturally has a speakeasy, prohibition-era feel with its original brick walls and exposed ceiling joists. Even our attentive staff dresses the part from the era. We hope to take you back in time for a bit while enjoying good food and drink with friends and family.

    I brought my husband here while in town for his bday. The waiter asked if we were first timers and celebrating anything, in which I replied that it was my hubby’s bday. While we are never looking for a handout and will absolutely pay for a great meal, I noticed several desserts coming by with candles in them that represented that other tables were celebrating special occasions and it was observed by the staff… but not us. Also, my husband had ordered an old fashioned but without smoke and when the food runner/bartender (not our waiter) brought the drink, it had smoke so we let her know it was supposed to be without. With attitude, she rudely said, “well that wasn’t on the ticket”. I’m not sure that was the appropriate way to respond when that may have been an issue to take up with the waiter that input the order. The food was great but not over the top great so will more than likely not be itching to return or recommend.

    Our server Mark was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations across the board. From drinks to apps and entrees, everything was fantastic!

    Overall, we had an excellent experience. The service was very good. Food was delicious however extremely noisy hard to hold a conversation with the people in our party.

    Drinks were fantastic - we sampled multiple of the craft cocktails and they were all excellent. The food was great. My wife had the filet and I had the market grouper with scallops. The truffle Mac and cheese is the thing of legends. Awesome experience all around.

    Absolutely love this place, a must try for Charlotte. The tuna tartare is a must, along with a the ribeye, and truffle fries. You also MUST have the Nutella cheesecake!

    Our service was wonderful and the cocktails were perfect! We loved the chargrilled oysters. The Fillet mignon was very good but just not great. The truffle Mac and cheese was delicious! The atmosphere was perfect, felt like you were back in time in a true speakeasy.

    Food was great. Server made my group feel pushed out in the sense that we needed to vacate our table. One of our guests meals didn't come out until some of our group had already paid for their meals. Recommend improved training for servers responsible for tables consisting of more than 6 guests. Makes for a poor experience. Cost of food is expensive here. The service should match the level of cost that the patron is paying for the experience.
