A social atmosphere fit for a president. Join us where vibrant cocktail culture meets fun elegance and comfort food at this Dupont Circle neighborhood favorite. It is said that while President Theodore Roosevelt loved to eat, to him the dinner table was less an occasion for fine dining than as a springboard for conversations. In keeping with this, we have created a stunning interior design for Teddy and the Bully Bar that keeps patrons talking. Reflecting Theodore Roosevelt’s love for simple American comfort food, including steaks, oysters, fried chicken and house-made cornbread, our seasonal menus feature a contemporary twist on classic comfort dishes with a focus on quality, local and simplicity.                                                           Thanksgiving feast was wonderful. I had the pumpkin soup, and my husband had the smoked salmon ceasar for the starter course. The carving station gave large portions, the turkey was cooked perfectly, and the sides were favorful and savory. The staff was professional and friendly. Thank you for being open today.

                                                          This was our second Thanksgiving at Teddy and the Bully Bar in three years. When we stay in DC, we come here for Thanksgiving dinner. It is delicious, the staff is helpful and kind, and the overall experience is excellent.

                                                          Was very excited to try this restaurant, but was sorely disappointed in the food. Started with a dozen oysters which were not prepared properly - they had shell and sand fragments in them and were not cut off the shell - we had to dig them out with a knife. Also, the mignonette sauce was pure red vinegar, no shallots or oil/sugar. The waiter recommended the corn bread - it was hot and soft, had a drizzle of honey over it. Overall good - just nothing fancy. Then for the main meal we order the short ribs and Brussel sprouts. The short rib was very fatty, and the flavor was bland. We took a few bites and didn't eat the rest. The Brussel sprouts were "ok" but the white citrusy/chalky sauce on the top should have been left off. We only ate a few and pushed it to the side. Got two drinks and $200 and hungry bellies later, we left. Nothing was asked as to why we didn't eat our food, no compensation offered, and no one even refilled our water. Do not recommend based on our experience.
