We are happy to welcome dogs into our Bar Area Only. Please note, we only serve food in the Bar from 12-3 MON-SAT (excluding Sundays when we exclusively serve food in our restaurant). The restaurant does not allow dogs except for service dogs. Please make us aware of any dogs you have with you upon booking.
On Sundays we exclusively serve our 4 Course Sunday Roast Menu Only.
The Tartar Frigate is one of the only 18th century flint restaurants in Kent. Widely renowned as one of the best seafood restaurants in Kent, the harbor restaurant boasts stunning panoramic views over Viking Bay. You can take advantage of the extensive menu, which also includes mouth-watering traditional dishes from around the world.
Entertainment: Live Music Wed, Fri and Sundays in the Bar.
Please note - We have no baby changing facilities and no disabled toilets and no disabled access to the top floor Restaurant due to the age of building.

    What a lovely Sunday lunch! The service works like clockwork, amazing! Food was beautiful & very good value for 4 courses. Would definitely dine again, fantastic experience!

    I must admit this was an unexpected delight. Walking through the pub to the first floor restaurant we weren’t expecting much but we were very wrong. Couldn’t fault anything, food was superb, service was great. Will definitely be our new go to place when we are in the area.

    We ate on Sunday. 4 courses big portions, or they kindly serve half portions for £21 !! Which were plenty big enough. All the dishes were excellent, with a few little extras . Like the home made vegetable soup, you get a big tureen full to serve yourself.. very nice touch. Served with carrot and celery stick on the side with a delicious mayonnaise. wine served perfect. Service 10/10 highly recommended.

    The service was very good friendly and professional. The time we had to wait from ordering to the food coming out was timely the food itself was well presented and welll cooked It was worth the money and we would come back if on the area agsin
