Christmas Eve is dinner will be a curated $92/per person prix fixe. Large parties of 6+ will be invited to our family friendly, buffet-style seating. Parties of 1-5 will be served a la carte in our main dining rooms.

Since our early days as a tea room, we’ve been a respite for locals and visitors alike, offering a haven for conversation and memorable cuisine. The tradition continues as our culinary team has curated an inventive and elevated menu through New American cuisine while paying homage to the beloved dishes that have been served at the Tabard Inn for years. A DC institution since 1922, we look forward to offering our guests all the comforts of a home away from home.

Executive Chef Matthew Zafrir came to the Tabard in 2023, bringing with him experience from various fine dining restaurants around D.C. such as minibar by José Andrés, Cranes, Revelers Hour.

I would have rated the noise level as excellent, but there was a wedding going on upstairs that was extremely loud, and it kind of ruined the ambiance of the quiet jazz lounge feel later in the evening. With that said, the lounge, atmosphere, music, food, service, and coziness were all perfect! We especially appreciated our server Lauren, who was so friendly and attentive. She even reserved us a table, even though they usually do not reserve tables, because we asked for a cozy corner in the lounge to celebrate our wedding and first Thanksgiving weekend as a married couple. She also brought us a celebratory dessert drink, which was delicious. We can't wait to go back, and will definitely take friends and visitors to DC. The manager, Alyshea, was amazing also!

Ambience is very nice, cozy fireplace bar, white tablecloths etc. The service was efficient and attentive. The menu is limited, more like comfort food entrees. Nothing special. I would not go back.

I was expecting a top-notch dining experience considering that it was a prix fixe menu priced at $92 - and with a drink, well over $100 per person. The food was disappointing with many of the dishes served barely warm. I left disappointed at best.

Our Thanksgiving dining experience was a mixed bag. The $92 per person fixed menu had its highlights, particularly the fresh and flavorful soup and salad. However, the prime ribs fell short, arriving undercooked and consequently, difficult to cut and chew. The turkey and desserts, while satisfactory, nothing memorable. The atmosphere, too, was unremarkable, with a small, divided dining area lacking a notable view. While it's possible that fixed Thanksgiving menus may inherently present challenges, our experience was disappointing enough to deter a return visit. Nonetheless, it's worth acknowledging that a similar experience at a different restaurant last year was also underwhelming, suggesting that perhaps the format itself may be the limiting factor.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner at the Tabbard Inn. A variety of courses to choose from on the price fixed menu and plenty to satisfy our appetites.
