   Food was good. Service extremely slow. Server would disappear for lengthy periods of time. Wanted to take my dinner home. Told server. He forgot. Waited 15 mins to remind. Gave up and left without the food.

   My wife and I went to dinner there on Friday night. We knew that it was going to be an expensive meal but we were convinced by the good reviews that we should try it. I ended up with the lamb, expecting that, at $72 (much higher than Capital Grill or Trulucks) I would be in for a treat. I asked how the chef preferred to prepare it, was told medium rare, and I agreed to that. I am fine with rare, too. But what came out on my dish was 4 chops, including 1 with a good-sized hunk of grizzle on it that were virtually raw (not rare— raw). And the presentation of the disk was messy. It just looked like they didn’t care. I didn’t want to wreck the meal for my wife (who was very happy with the chicken). I should note that the roasted beet salad was beautiful and delicious. At this price point you are paying for great food, service and presentation. The other observation I have is that the wine prices by the glass are absurd. Again, I went with it, but when you are charging $26 for a glass of wine that you can get for $20 bucks you should get a decent “steak house” pour. Instead you get the low-brow little decanters (always cheesy). If you are paying that much the wine should be poured from the bottle so you can see what you are getting. It wasn’t a bad meal, it was a mostly good meal for the price of an excellent one. They have some work to do.

   Had a reservation but still had to wait 30 mins to get seated… wasnt so bad but the waitress was not polite we repeatedly thanked her but it wasnt recognized and that would of been fine but the the steak was terrible i just decided not to complain cuz its the third time ive been and the first 2 were excellent… ive never ordered a steak that had so much fat and so little edible meat… ended up eating less that we wanted and enjoying the sorbet. 1 bad experience doesnt ruin this place for me but i wont expect much anymore.

   We had a very nice experience at Steak 954 tonight. The service was very attentive, but not overbearing. We started out with the crabcake appetizer and French onion soup.  the 12 ounce fillet had a very nice year but was a bit overcooked for the medium rare we ordered. The Chilean Sea bass was excellent.

    Haricot vert were hard-fillet of sole sent back by guest full of bones and sent back for being unedible, bread was good, lobster tails over cooked and not detached from shell- had to ask for a plate to have them removed-bartender makes horrible Cosmopolitan, spicey drink guest had was undrinkable and sent back,kitchen VERY SLOW and the place wasn’t full- beautiful place, but for the money go someplace else- it wasn’t just one thing that was off…
