   We loved the food! The service was a bit slow last night, compared to other times we’ve gone. The hockey game being on TV was also a bit distracting!

   Our dinner was a great experience all around. The atmosphere was great, the service was wonderful. We went for the 5 course valentines menu ($90 per person). For the most part, the food was delicious but there were a few exceptions. The breaded cauliflower had a huge lump of flour in it (literally powder inside our bite, but hey it happens!) and the prawns were not cleaned out (black stripe inside). We got our banana split at the end with melted ice cream which just wasn’t right and sloppy. I would hope that, for this price point, that the quality of food would be above par but it was a little below. Thanks otherwise for a great evening.

   Outstanding experience here for several reasons. First, I could hear my fellow guest talk across the table. The accoustics help to absorb competing sounds and it was not noisy at all. Second, the seating is very comfortable. Third, restrooms are clean and well stocked. Finally, the food is delicious including the coffee. Bonus marks for exquisite presentation, lovely glasses and beer tumblers. Spacious, welcoming restaurant. One more thing: best donuts I have tasted in well over 15 years. They are the real thing.

   Boyfriend and I did a "knock off" Valentine dinner the day before to avoid big crowds and overpriced menus. We were NOT disappointed. We considered the tasting menu offered, but decided to get our own mix of plates. Our server, Danielle, suggested 3-5 plates would be a good number for us and we went with it. 2 Tacos - Fish and Beef Both great but the beef stood-out. Had a discussion specifically about going back for a Taco Tuesday because of it, Pork Belly Bao Buns Did not expect the blueberry compote to be so complimentary.. LOVED them. We were also unsure if it would be presented braised (like the other pork belly on their menu) or cripsy.. Crispy and PERFECT Pork & Shrimp Dumplings We were skeptical because an online review described them as "ok" and that they could find better at their grocery store.. Please forward me the address of the grocery store you use because DAMN. These were an open-faced, flavorful delight. Yellowfin Tuna Sashimi We've had Tuna Sashimi before and liked it, but this was a little different. Thicker pieces than we anticipated and so. damn. good. Sichuan Pretzel Bites This was probably our least favourite dish, but not because it wasn't great but because it wasn't as special as the other dishes. The portion and flavour was great, dips were awesome. Can't wait to go back.

   Great place, tasteful decor, quiet surroundings, food was way above expectations. We were two couples and everyone raves about the food.

   The Vietnamese pancake and the papaya salad were excellent. The Sidedoor cocktail and the mango mocktail were very good also. Thank you, Sidedoor team, for a wonderful experience!

   Have been here a few times now and have not been disappointed yet. Great food and good service. Wish it was a bit cheaper but I think we wish a lot of things were cheaper!

    Food and service is always great. One of the best restaurants in Ottawa. My only request would be that the food comes out in courses ie. apps first, then mains and sides. Food came out super quickly, but courses were sporadic. Everything was delicious.
