Scalini Fedeli was opened by chef-owner Michael Cetrulo in 1995 and very quickly became New Jersey's highest rated Italian restaurant. Rated excellent by the New York Times in 1996 and New Jersey's favorite restaurant in Zagat's Survey in 2001 and New Jersey Monthly's best Italian and top 25 overall in 2007. Highlights from the menu include soft egg yolk raviolo with black truffle butter, pignoli crusted salmon with artichoke and mint agnolotti in a light tomato and basil broth and braised short ribs of beef with a cherry pepper and port glaze. Set in an historic building built in 1740, the atmosphere is slightly formal with Tuscan style vaulted ceilings finished with Venetian plaster. Tapestry and antique mirrors adorn the walls.

The food was fantastic. Unfortunately the service did not match. They were rushing and service was terrible. They brought the next course before they cleared the plates from the previous course. It felt like they were throwing the food on the table and then running away. Then they cleared before my wife finished her plate. Did not even ask. Just took her plate away. It’s unfortunate because the food was truly delicious. Everything we had was flavorful. Definitely recommend for the food.

Another wonderful meal at Scalini. We never feel rushed, food is always prepared perfectly and the portions are huge. We'll be back again soon.

Food was very good. The service was sufficient but far from “fine dining” service. I have a 4 year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management and worked in the Hamptons in a few of the South fork’s best restaurants so I have a background that enables me to say this. Everything was just “ very good” not “great” Two glasses of wine and a bottle of pelligrino vand the tasting menu with a few “upgrades” and bill with 20% tip was 267$. Not the best 267$ I’ve spent on a dinner for two. 3 Stars is the best I can give.

A wonderful place to have dinner. The food is delicious, the service is excellent and the restaurant is physically beautiful. Plus, the prix fixe dinner is a great value. So much terrific food at a relatively reasonable price. I

Really good place to have a beautiful night, I have a date With my girlfriend And I asked them to bring me a gift that I bought at the end with the desserts they did it according to how I asked and with a decoration !! Great place, 100% recommended and very good recommendations from the waiter with his warm and nice attitude

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary on October 25th. The ambience is intimate and warm, unfortunately we were seated at a small table in the middle of the aisle, while there were other, more comfortable tables available. The service was excellent and the food, (with the exception of very stale bread), was very good—especially the Porcini Ravioli and the Banana Tart. Although it was pleasant overall, I'm not sure I'd return given how expensive it was.
