Hello, we are Sansom Kabob House. A local Afghan restaurant bringing authentic Afghan cuisine from the core of Afghanistan. We originally opened on October 2nd, 2002. We were on 1526 Sansom St. for 14 years and then moved to 1300 South St. We create gourmet Afghan food that you can find in Afghanistan or here at our Philadelphia location. We have mouthwatering flavors starting from our bread to our kabobs. Our bread's recipe and technique have been passed down from the founder's great-great-grandfather, who owned an array of bakeries and managed many restaurants in Kabul. Passed through generations to our chef, who brought delicious meals to 15th and Sansom of Philadelphia. Then from 15th and Sansom to 1300 South St.

We have delectable food that you fall in love with and will bring comfort to you, from our meat lovers to our vegans. We do reservations, groups, take-out, delivery, catering, waiter service, and maintain a great family environment.

                                                                                              Tucked away in the heart of Philadelphia, this charming restaurant offers an authentic taste of Afghan cuisine. We ordered the Qabuli Palaw with Kofta and Chapli Kebab. The rice was fragrant and flavorful, while the lamb leg beneath the Qabuli Palaw was incredibly tender and succulent. The staff was warm and welcoming, adding to the inviting ambiance. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between sophistication and relaxation, enhanced by heritage paintings, artifacts, and elegant decor.                                                                                               We had an early dinner reservation because we had tickets to a play afterward. It wasn't very crowded, but I was still a bit worried about the time when we first arrived, since there weren't many servers. However, they were both friendly and very efficient, and we were able to finish in time. The food was all amazing; I especially enjoyed the kadu and the dhal.
