After an absolutely wonderful spa experience, my friend and I went to lunch at Salt Rock. It was an all around average experience. It took well over 15 minutes before a server attended to us, even though it was not considerably busy (Wednesday afternoon). Although once she assisted us the server was fine. I had the crispy cauliflower street tacos. The cauliflower was definitely not crispy, and very little flavor. It wasn’t bad, but definitely just meh. The view from their outside seating was STUNNING. Wouldn’t go back again because I crave a bit more “wow” for food experiences when on vacation, but it was convenient with a lovely view.

Service was nice, food was okay, but pricey. Ahi tuna was too spicy and could not finish a small portion. The salad was dry, but adding more dressing did the trick. Overall food and experience was fair.

We had a delicious lunch overlooking the magnificent view. We started with a lime margarita, which was delicious, chicken tortilla soup, and ribeye tacos. The food had the most amazing flavor and so fresh and delicious. Our waitress was very attentive. We had free valet parking at the hotel.

7:45 dinner resi, in Amara hotel. Since it was already dark out we couldn’t find where the valet was because there was absolutely NO LIGHTING so we parked up the hill at the hotel parking and used our flashlights on our phones for guidance, and walked down the hill to the restaurant, in heels. We get seated and waited about 15min for anyone to come to our table to just bring water, had to go up to the hostess and ask for someone to come over, it was not packed, there were TONS of empty tables! The server and service ended up being fine but we’d never go back or recommend it to anyone. Food was okay but not great. Too many other good restaurants!

So wanted to really like it. Arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and hostess greeted us saying it would take a few minutes to bus and set up our table. When we were seated more than half tables on the patio were empty and ready for diners. Nor sure what wait was for. But we waited again...for over 20 minutes before a waitress who saw menus still sitting in front of us approached and asked if anyone had been to our table to help us. We said no and she said that was terrible (agree!) and she'd find out who had our table. At least she took our drink and appetizer order. But another 20 minutes before drinks and appetizers arrive. Then the waitress said it looks like she would be our server and finally entree orders in after an hour since being seated. Drinks were ok but certainly hope not the best Margaritas in town as advertised. I've made better at home. Guac appetizer was good. Elote was okay but not much flavor. My rib eye tacos were good. Wife's scallops and pork belly entree was bi-polar. Scallops were good however pork belly was tough but flavor okay. Tabled cleared by buss staff, and waited again. Finally flagged down waitress to get check and turned down enthusiastic offer to bring dessert menu which we could only assume would amount to another wait. We love leisurely dining but not being ignored.

We ate at Salt Rock five years ago and were really looking forward to going back. Our server and the whole staff were excellent but the food was not what we were anticipating or as good as when we went the last time.

We had a nice dinner at SaltRock. Our server Lauren was attentive and friendly. Drinks were very good. I give it a 4 star because my salmon was overcooked and the atmosphere was just ok. They did comp us on the salmon though.
