Hern is a relaxed but ambitious bistro from chef Rab Adams, located in the suburb of Chapel Allerton in North Leeds. Rab and his team build menus by focusing on products that are in season and at their best. Organic vegetables, local cheeses, heritage-breed meat and wild fish all feature heavily.

Everything about our meal was lovely, the food, service and interaction with the chefs was great. There wasn’t one item that was sub-standard and I would happily have them all again. The only downside is that Cambridge Street Collective can be very noisy at times which can detract from the moment. Overall though, I’d definitely recommend a visit. It’s really worth it if you like good food.

As expected our visit to V&V was perfect. The service was noticeably excellent; attentive but not too much. And the food was superb. I made the mistake of having a couple of cocktails before visiting - I’ll ensure to go on an empty stomach next time as the food is more filling than expected. Looking forward to returning in the new year.
