Umi Sake House is a unique Japanese cuisine restaurant in the Belltown area of Seattle featuring the highest quality seafood available in the Northwest, a large izakaya-style tapas menu, and boasting a sake list of over 60 imported Japanese bottles. The interior is multi-faceted, with a black slate tiled traditional dining room, a gorgeous 14 person capacity wooden sushi bar, a semi private "tatami" room which holds 12 people, a larger 25 person private dining room, an enclosed "back patio" casual dining room complete with tropical garden, a black concrete liquor bar with custom sake cocktails and fusion traditional cocktails. The variety of atmospheres allows for a different experience with every visit, and the vastness and quality of the menu does the same. For the budding sake enthusiast or the seasoned veteran, the sake menu at Umi is bottle for bottle the best found anywhere outside of Japan!

One of our party was running late. It was a Tuesday night, so not as busy as usual. Our waiter was awesome and let us hang out and wait for our 4th person to join us for drinks and dessert. We happily ordered an extra roll and another round of drinks while we waited and tipped well in gratitude.

This was our first time visiting, and we had a great experience! Juan Miguel provided excellent service throughout our meal. The meats were of high quality, and we arrived just in time to enjoy the slightly discounted happy hour rates. While the atmosphere was quite noisy, it felt lively and festive. This is clearly a popular spot—reservations are a must, as the place was already packed by 5:30 PM on a Friday evening. Let me know if you’d like further adjustments!
