   We chose Ruth's Chris for our celebratory business dinner for ten, partly because we knew what to expect based on many years of experience with the chain. In summary, we enjoyed a great evening among close friends despite an average dining experience. The best element of the evening was our table and the restaurant's effort to create a suitable environment for the occasion at a semi private round on a balcony of sorts overlooking the main dining area below. The food was very good though pedestrian and generic in presentation and variety. We were most surprised and disappointed by the service. Specifically, my wife had to discreetly direct our young and inexperience attendant on multiple occasions to properly take care of the table. Simple case in point: At dessert time, she had to ask him to check with each guest to see if they wanted another beverage, like coffee, tea, or even a refill of water. Most surprising to me was their handling of the wine selection. I stated what we were looking for and the waiter came back after speaking with an unseen sommelier with bottles without explanation or offering a taste for approval. This was after my initial selections were unavailable. Later, after the bottles were empty, one guest asked for a separate glass, also asking for a recommendation based on a couple of criteria he offered. Imagine this: the waiter offered a suggestion, which my friend refused, since he knows the wine and doesn't care for it The waiter again went to speak with the unseen sommelier, and returned with a glass for approval. Inexplicably, he had brought the very wine that my friend had refused, and my friend called him out on it. To his credit, the waiter admitted it, bringing another wine afterward. To his shame, and to that of the restaurant, he treated a guest as ignorant and tried to deceive. Like the meal, the dessert was unimaginative, albeit enjoyable. The cheesecake was clearly mass-produced.

   We always enjoy our visits, and always request Derrick. Tonight all the food choices made were absolutely perfect! And thanks to everyone there who always make us feel so very welcome.

   Our waiter, Kyle, was very attentive and professional. He came back to check on us several times and was easy to speak with. A gentleman.

   I can not eat dairy. I ordered a salad which with lemon basil dressing which sounds like a vinaigrette. When it came to the table I asked if it was dairy. I was told no. Then I asked another, again told no. I even asked how did they make it white if was not dairy. They did not know. As I finished my dinner I started to get severe pain in my abdomen. After leaving to go home, I exhibited severe abdominal distress. I looked up to see what was in the ingredients of the lemon basil dressing which I found was pure dairy, which was the cause of my distress for many hours. I was very surprised to find an establishment as fine as Ruth Chris that could not figure out if dairy was in a dressing. Did they just not care and was more worried about returning a salad?
