                                                                    While my steak was excellent, my husband’s, whose was ordered the exact same way (medium rare), was not. Mine came out about medium medium rare, and my husband’s came out medium well. I ended up giving my steak to my husband; and he agreed mine was excellent, and I agreed his was not. Quite odd. Service was impeccable, so we didn’t say anything; but $300 and a solicited review later, I’m simply acknowledging that you may wish to put a heightened regard on the way you wish your steak to be cooked.

                                                                    I have been going to RL since they first opened. Always lovely, comfortable, clubby, excellent. It is a joy to be there. It is hard not to have the Dover sole. My favorite. And tonight. Joseph was our waiter. He was superb. Attentive but not too much. Classy. Friendly. But not too much. Works on the west side of the restaurant. I would ask for him. Can’t wait to go back.

                                                                    I have always wanted to try RL as it’s a favorite for many people. I’m not sure how I waited so long but I digress. Ambiance was great when we walked in. The issue I have is the service felt overly rushed. In 30 minutes we already had food on the table. From start to finish we were in the restaurant for an hour & 15 min and that’s because I waited to finish my glass of wine and drink my coffee slow. We came from the suburbs to have a city day, so to have been rushed to turn a table is something I will remember. There were other small things but this was my biggest issue. I don’t feel inclined to return sadly.

                                                                    The lobster and cauliflower Stilton bisque were very nice. They could have been a little warmer. The chicken sandwich and chicken Milanese were excellent. Our service was amazing. Unfortunately we did not get his name so that we could thank him personally in this report.
