Traditional wood fired pizza, pasta and seafood are the stars of Fitzroys newest local. The centre piece of the restaurant is the roaring pizza oven which heats the dining area throughout the night. The Italian cuisine is accompanied by a casual setting making is easy to relax and enjoy your meal in an intimate setting or with a large group.
Some of Bontempo's specialities lay in its simplicity and elegance. The dough has been let to age for 48 hours and is stretched out by hand into a super thin and crunchy pizza base. For non pizza options there is pasta, rich homemade gnocchi ai quatrro formaggi and an assortment of fresh seafood dishes. Meals can be made gluten free or with vegan substitutes at request.
Bontempo also has an impressive drinks menu with beers and wines to match your meal.

Great spot for date night or group dining. This has become a new favourite of ours and highly recommend to anybody who wants delicious food and great service!

Food was amazing, however they forgot my partners order, everyone had finished eating when she was able to ask where it was and they then made it late causing her to eat alone and it be a later night than hoped. They also charged us double for a pizza which a member of our group had paid for after we double checked. Food was great, service was below par and double charged for some of it so all in all 3/5 stars

Ambience was lovely , everyone was friendly , my meal was poor in flavour and it was just put together with not much effort, for the price of a main there could have been more on the plate. a main calamari salad , first was told wedges came with it ( it did not ) 6 calamari in the salad . it was not busy . could not be bothered complaining , I paid and went elsewhere to eat as we were all still hungry . Its a shame because I like the vibe of the restaurant.

My friend and I both had pasta dishes and they were absolutely delicious. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Lots of seating options. Would definitely recommend to a friend!
