I really enjoy the restaurant at the Getty and I’ve bought friends and family members there for birthdays or special occasion lunches. Today I took my husband to lunch. The restaurant was pretty and we had a lovley seat with a view. I was a bit disappointed with our waiter though because my husband doesn’t eat potatoes or mashed potatoes and asked for f he could have them subbed from his main course chicken dish and the waiter said no that there are no other options. Then my husband chose the fish dish which also had potatoes so being frustrated he just ordered the fish and had to pick around his lunch therefore being unenjoyable. I just wanted him to experience a beautiful relaxing lunch like I always had there, sadly he didn’t. Also, the waiter only checked on our table once after the food was dropped off, which was at the end of the meal. I had hoped for a better experience but because I do enjoy the restaurant I still gave it a 4 star.

They always bat 1000! Friendly, beautiful, delicious are just a few of the very affirming adjectives that come to mind. And my guest felt it was a very special treat. I’ll be back soon.

The Getty Center Restaurant is an amazing place, with great views of LA. However, the restaurant is not just a "view" restaurant. Every time we have gone, they have always provided memorable, inventive cuisine to go with fantastic art. About the only slightly negative thing I can say is that the wall decorations look a bit like something from the art-deco '30s. However, even they are charming.

What a great experience. Our server, Arwyn (spelling) was marvelous on all counts. I had the butternut squash soup, which was beautiful and delicious. For my entree, I had the bass…it was cooked perfectly, succulent with a crispy, well seasoned skin. We shared the Chestnut Rocks dessert, which was unique in both presentation and flavors. We’re so glad Arwyn recommended it. This restaurant isn’t cheap but well worth the expense, in my view.

Octopus was perfectly grilled. Vinaigrette had too much vinegar and mustard. Dessert (chestnut mousse) was very good. Wine (duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc) was not very good. Service was poor. There was no drinks menu on the tsble; waitress brought it, then didn’t come back for 15 minutes to take our order. Then another ten minutes to bring the drinks we had ordered by which time our lunches had arrived. Restaurant ambience lovely.

The location is cozy, relax and elegant, a perfect place taking your love one to, but not recommend little kid. The food is not bad but nothing to write home about, then again it’s good enough to enjoy the overall experience. Service is friendly, as good as you would expect that won’t ruin your date. Bar is passing grade, don’t expect too much of their cocktail. Overall, I really enjoy the place and do recommend to mature guests.
