Guests and locals alike can enjoy classic British and European cuisine at Restaurant 66a in Oxford’s Cotswold Lodge Hotel. The 4-star hotel is located within walking distance of Oxford’s historic city centre, making it the perfect stop-off after a day of sight-seeing there or in the nearby Cotswolds. The elegant, modern dining room at Restaurant 66a is gracefully fitted into the lovely Georgian building, retaining the authentic fireplace, high ceilings and bay windows, and adding smart wood and brass fittings and luxe upholstery. In summer, the garden courtyard is the most romantic spot in town. Menus here change regularly - the chef employs the freshest seasonal ingredients, sourced locally wherever possible - although there’s always a range of classic European flavour combinations on offer. Choose from cream of pumpkin soup with truffle oil or roast lamb with dauphinoise potato, red cabbage and rosemary jus. Fancy a great fish and chips or steak? We do that too!

This is my favourite Afternoon Tea venue in Oxford, you can't beat it for ambience, price, parking and relaxation plus the food is lovely! Not sure if some of the sandwich choices had been changed for Christmas but they weren't the usual fayre this time. Nevertheless, the team do go out of their way to do what they can for you, they are not hovering over you endlessly and you can get as many refills on the tea etc as you like. I always look forward to going back and I will be looking forward to my next afternoon tea trip back here again!

Did not clear 4th setting on 3 person table. Slow service. Food very good. Servers not trained to restaurant standards though nice people. Food best element.

I thought I had walked into the restaurant in Fawlty Towers, especially when we had to ask for everything at least twice and the pleasant young girl put our wine on the table unopened. Asked if she could get anything else to which I replied, an open bottle of wine would be good. She tried to open a cork bottle as if it was a screw top!!! When she came back after at least 5 minutes she plonked the bottle on the table and walked off. The two young waiting staff didn’t have a clue what they were doing. After dinner I asked for a Courvoisier Cognac and the young barman looked at me as if I was from outer space. I had to find it on the shelf for him! The hotel itself was fine.

We were a group of 4 friends in Oxford on a Saturday night. It was a lovely looking, comfy restaurant and the staff were very friendly. However for some reason we were the only people eating between 8pm and 9:30pm so it was a very quiet atmosphere. There were a couple of things on the menu that were unavailable too.

I booked at the resteraunt as I was staying at the hotel. When I went downstairs it was closed. They had set me a table in the bar. As I was the only one eating it was a bit odd. I was the only person to eat, I doubt they had an entire kitchen of staff cooking fresh for me. The carrot wasn’t cooked through. The food was tasty. But I can’t help thinking some of it was warmed up. For example the Guinea fowl skin wasn’t crispy but looked like it should of been which is why is suspect it was microwaved. The desert wasn’t good. The choux pastry was cold and stale. It wasn’t bad. But it’s trading of an AA rosette.
