   The bar tender Nico began our amazing evening with his cocktail magic. The Jewels was knowledgeable and super friendly. Her service was perfect. We kept ordering awaesome dishes just to be able to stay longer. Lovely evening. We were so caught up in the ambiance we forgot to get our picture made in front of the Xmas tree. We’ll be back for certain.

   We were ushered to the upper level where another table was on dessert. Once they left, we are the only ones up there which felt rather isolated from the other diners on the main level. We also felt badly that the servers had to run up and down the stairs just for us. It was also a slow start which further added to the feeling of being separated. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The holiday decor throughout the hotel is beautiful!

   Service was fantastic! Ambiance was lovely! However… We looked at the menu before arriving so we’d kind of know what we wanted. We weren’t surprised by the prices, but they were pretty high. So we expected it to be fantastic, for the price especially. We bought 3 cocktails, which were delicious. We had the ricotta dip as an appetizer. It was good, and the accompanying bread was even better. The dip was on the salty side. For our main courses, we had the chicken al forno and ravioli with chicken and mushrooms. Both dishes were very salty. I couldn’t even eat my ravioli because it was SO salty, but I took it home. I just can’t send food back because I hate waste. I’m going to try to mix it with more pasta and chicken to counteract the salt. I mean, the flavors were great, they were just heavy handed with the salt.

   I had reservations that stated, this was a special event for us and asked for the best table…the very young hostess didn’t even look at the request in advance and tried to sit us at the worst table in the middle of the dining room surrounded by big groups of people!!! I had to request she try again…the best table was already occupied by the fireplace, I believe because of her lack of attention and not reserving the table ahead of our set time. Very disappointing! HOWEVER, food, service, decor & ambiance for nice romantic dinner was superb!!! I highly recommend @ around $100/person with generous tip. Response to restaurant who claimed middle of a crowded room between two large parties is the best table at night (for the view of the mountains that you can’t even see in the dark) is absurd! As a couple looking for quiet, best table to celebrate a huge moment, placing that request IN ADVANCE (which should have been 1st come 1st served at the popular fireside table, due to the reservation) with no accountability and lack of attention from the young hostess, is FAR FROM OK, no matter how you explain it or justify it! Very disappointing!!! An apology and/or invite to try them again so they can show improvement would have gone along way, just saying!

We understand how important seating can be for a special occasion, and we do our best to honor all guest requests. The table in the center of our dining room that you were initially offered is considered one of our best, as it provides a full view of the mountains. However, we completely understand that preferences vary & regret if it did not meet your expectations. While the fireplace table is a popular spot, it is seated on a first-available basis to ensure fairness for all guests. That said, we value your feedback & will make sure to emphasize better communication regarding special requests in the future.

   This was our first visit to 17 and it would have received 5 stars across the board, but we were a little disappointed with our entree. We had the steak and we liked the preparation, but the actual cut seemed tough and not in line with everything else we were served. We left wishing we had ordered something else. The service was top notch; friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is just what we want for a night out. We could hear each other without competing with other noises. Our appetizers were delicious, the custom drink I had (Carolina Green) was so good. We were staying at the hotel, so we also had breakfast the next morning which was definitely a 5 star breakfast. We tried to get the secret to the chef's potato hash. We will definitely come back in the future and just not order the steak.
