We always have a great time at Yume. This time we brought friends with us to introduce them to one of our favorite spots. Service is always top notch, drinks are varied and all good, sake selection varies, and we always love the food. The things we must get every time: tuna usuzukuri, okinomiyaki fries, chubby toro roll, and the truffle lobster roll. Our friend studied in Japan and he hasn’t found great curry don until we brought him here. He let me have a bite with the katsu pork and it was delicious. Really can’t go wrong with any dish here.

This was one of the worst ramen dishes I’ve eaten and I think it’s hard to mess up ramen. The level of salt was overwhelming and the complexity of other spices was almost nonexistent. The salted edamame was the best dish we ordered and, surprisingly, not salty. The tempura vegetables were just “okay”. The tempura batter is too heavy and the vegetables lacked the crispness that is typical of tempura. The miso was a better choice, not as salty and more traditional, but again, it lacked complexity. Overall, I’m not sure why this restaurant is so highly regarded because I’ve had better ramen at two other places in the Charlotte area and Charlotte is not known for this type of dish. I cannot recommend this restaurant despite the great service from our waiter. He was the highlight of the visit.

I had been to Yume when it first opened a few years ago, that experience was pretty underwhelming. However, this time was much better. Food and drinks were so delicious. Additionally, our waiter was attentive, quick, and just very nice overall. Will be visiting again soon!

Went for their happy hour before the hornets game. 5 mins Uber from the stadium making it our go to spot. Large selections and our server myrna helped us to navigate it with breeze. Food came out hot and fast and we were able to in and out a little over half an hour. Recommended!
