Ye Olde Punchbowl Inn is certainly Ye Olde, even by the standards of British country pubs. The building has been there for at least 700 years – nobody knows exactly how long it has stood on what is now Ludlow Road – and has been a pub since 1740, serving the traveller, the public of Bridgnorth and all others who entered their doors. The menu now is classically British, with a full AGA carvery, a gastro menu and a full wine list that takes in the best of local ingredients. Reserve a table and gather up your whole crew for a meal that has stood the test of time.

Our main function room can capacitate up to 200 people and has its own internal bar, private entrance and benefits exclusive private gardens with a large terrace, outdoor space and finally with a fully functional state of the art outdoor bar! During Covid-19 we must book all guests for HSE requirements for track and trace during this pandemic. Always a great carvery at the punchbowl. Been a few times and it's not the cheapest but definitely one of the better ones and always very busy so a good sign. The only criticism if I'm being picky was we thought the larger room we were seated in was a little canteen like. It's a function room for weddings we assumed and doesn't have the charm of the rest of the pub. Can't fault the food and service though.

Three waiters/waitresses just stood chatting whilst we waited to be shown to table. Server of meat miserable and unapproachable. No sprouts which is a shame as near Christmas. Got to table and food was cold. Wine spritzer had no fizz, ie lemonade flat. Crumble too hard and lumpy to eat. Should have complained at time but with friends and didn’t want to spoil our day. So disappointed as come every year for meal. We will not come again. On a good note one waitress was very smiley and chatty sorry uni name

We love coming here for our Sunday lunch as everything is Cooked well. There is just one negative the cabbage and broccoli were hard. The staff are wonderful very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is very cosy that’s why we like to have our lunch in the bar area because the big room the atmosphere is a little …cold

Took my better half to the Punbowl Inn at Bridgnorth , for a Sunday Carvery lunch date. From the moment we were welcomed upon arrival, shown to our table by a friendly member of staff who then took our drinks order, we went up to the carvery and were both absolutely impressed by the selection of meats and vegetables available. The lamb,beef and turkey were cooked to perfection, as were the vegetables. We got back to our seats and our drinks we served . All in all a really pleasant dining experience. This is a must go to place to dine. Thank you folks for looking after my wife and I. We will definitely return soon. Five stars out of five all round.

They were very busy with a coach party and seemed slightly under staffed for the day. But all the staff on duty were excellent, friendly and courteous. There is always an excellent choice of food at the carvery and it's excellent value for money. The puddings are great.
