Our very favorite fish and chips in all of LA. Succulent big pieces with crispy beer batter. Love the desserts as well. Only time we stray away from our usual King order of fish and chips is when we have out of town guests and we’ll order up some bangers and mash to have a variety.

Dined here many times on what I think is the best fish & chips in LA, but finally experienced the afternoon tea this week. We had a lovely time in the cozy back room with all the English royalty heads on the wall. I appreciate that the vibe is much more “British” versus so many tea houses that have an extremely flowery, feminine decor. The value of the tea service can’t be beat and the menu was spot on. Had a great loose leaf Earl Grey served, and the service was attentive but not intrusive. If I hadn’t needed to go back to work, I would’ve stayed for a few pints on the pub side. Our tea service confirmed that the Kings Head will continue to be a favorite for me & my family.

Arguably the L.A. area's finest English Pub experience. Great food to boot at fair prices. Parking can be a challenge and expensive. Walk here from a few blocks away if you can.

My 10 year old daughter was super excited for Sheppards Pie. Not sure why she was, but we made it a quest to find a good pie in LA. We did our research and made a reservation at Kings Head. She was excited. We drove 30 minutes from home. Found a parking garage. Parked. Paid for parking. Walked to the restaurant only to be greeted by host who said “we’re closed for a private party”. I said “we have a reservation”. She said that must be an error, and without any apology, turned her attention to the private party guests. I imagine the Sheppards Pie might be better than 1 star but the only service provided was a dismissive host who deserves less than 1 star given the fact that she could’ve cared less about the look on my face or my daughters face. I will give the oversalted swordfish at Water Grill 2 stars. 1 for the food and 1 for the fact that they didnt turn us away at the door when we walked over there instead.

Drove 90 minutes for my wife’s birthday tea. It came recommended by 2 different friends of ours and my wife, definitely a tea person, wanted to go for her birthday so we did. We truly enjoyed our time and it was what we expected. A truly British restaurant, pub like atmosphere. All we experienced was a busy, full of a lot of energy, place. Tea was great but if you are looking for a “quaint” location for quietness, this is not the place. Though tea service is served and is done quite well with delicious bites and tea flavor was great, not a quiet atmosphere. However, what I did notice was lunch being served to most patrons, the serving sizes were more than adequate in size. Large lunch portions of food streamed by our table. So, will we return? Absolutely YES. But we’ll go for lunch. We enjoyed our time and look forward to our return someday.
