   I have been to Yardbirds maybe 15 times since they're opened and I was there the first day they opened and I will continue to go the food is excellent I can't say enough about the chickens and Waffles loved it loved it loved it best chicken and waffles I've had in Chicago in Forever if I could go to The Yardbirds everyday I would thank you Yardbirds for everything you always meet my expectations 100% whether it's my birthday my anniversary or just a Thursday you've always been top notch always Pleasant way staff is so nice and so attentive but not overbearing you have a chance to go to Yardbirds in the loop please go you will not be disappointed

   Once again we visited Yardbird Chicago for an exceptional experience. Our party of 3 was seated in the restaurant’s private bourbon tasting and dining room, which is a second floor semi-enclosed room overlooking the main floor of the restaurant, decorated with a large variety of bourbons, whiskeys and other distilled spirits. The room comfortably accommodates 4-6 people, and while we did not partake in tastings, it delivered a great private dining experience. Adding to this was outstanding service provided by Ty, our waiter, and a visit from the restaurant’s manager, as well as great food. Our experience highlights why we continue to dine at Yardbird Chicago. They appreciate and take great care of their loyal customers.

   We were excited to dine here given that we had loved it in Vegas. Honestly the food was disappointing. None of it was as good as we had had in Vegas even though the menu items were the same. The chicken and waffles, which is what they are famous for, was seriously lacking any flavor at all- waffle was cold. Our server was good. No complaints there. Our only complaints are with the food and how loud it was in the restaurant. Loud rap music playing the entire time. Just a much different atmosphere than the Vegas Yardbird. We were there on a Sunday night which may have had something to do with the food not being on par.

   Fried chicken was cooked perfectly but had no taste. Whoever was cooking, the chicken forgot to season the flour, I am certain. If not for the honey hot sauce, I would have sent it back and got something else.

   We enjoyed our dinner at Yardbird. I had the Sweet Tea Short Ribs and it was delicious. My sister loved the waffles from the Chicken and waffles

   Upon arrival, the open-kitchen aromas were inviting and sense-surrounding. The menu offered fine print in a small font on off-white paper stock with lots of unused space. (Why do so many restaurants insist on making menus hard to read?!) They required more light and reading glasses to decipher. Very rich flavors yet rather bland in seasoning. Chicken could be crisper. And better salted. Ribs, sweetly sauced and smoke-domed, gave me a rough night of sleep. The over-the-top burger was an ingredient or two too many to handle. Duck confit gumbo, alas, was not available as described due to a lack of rice(!) and our surprise at an attempt to substitute mashed potatoes for it, which we declined. Surprisingly good but pricey wine list. No bin numbers, so communicating precise French and Italian wine names was a challenge. Servers should present bottles before opening to announce the wine and make sure it’s the right one. Our server was charming and helpful, as was the empathetic manager with the rice/potato news and consequent offer of complimentary (excellent!) house biscuits. Overall I expected more polish and more flavor but we had a very fine time nonetheless!
