Excellent Lebanese food and great value on the lunch special. Ambience and decor is very nice and upscale. It was quiet when I went for a business lunch. I recommend it and would return.

Yara is a Lebanese restaurant, we are Lebanese-Americans, we know really good Lebanese food, and we have to say, surprisingly, that every single dish was excellent. This is a one in a hundred find.

We got there 5 mins before our reservation and were told that it’s a 20 minute wait. Then someone came after us and got seated. We left. What’s the point of keeping a reservation if you can’t honor it.

The best tabouli salad in the country. Everything is terrific. Prices are moderate for NYC. The service is attentive and friendly. Our must visit when in town.

We've been to Yara before - it's high noise level, very good food. We chose it again for dinner with another couple, looking forward to the lively vibe. While diners sat on the upper level (it's a split-level venue) an engagement party was on the lower floor. An open stairway separates the spaces. A band or DJ was there. The noise level was worse than any experience we had had at a wedding or bar mitzvah at a table in same room as the band/dance floor. We asked the waitress -who was very good but seemingly a novice - to address the noise level. At first she couldn't hear us because of the noise! She said she totally understood, another table asked the same. But, no improvement. No manager or host acknowledged us or the noise. We finished our entrees, couldn't handle the noise anymore. Spoke directly with the manager who said there's nothing he can do; it's holiday season. No apology, no recognition of our situation. Nothing. Soon after, our waitress came over and asked if all ok - we told her we appreciate her, the food was good but the noise level was untenable, we wished they'd contacted us via OpenTable to tell us there was a party but they weren't preemptive, nor did they do anything once we were there, committed to food and wine while asking for decrease in party noise. As we assured our waitress we had no qualms with her, the manager walked by waving his hands at us, told her to 'give them a coffee or dessert" and kept walking. We had no desire to stay any longer; told waitress we didn't want any coffee or dessert because of the noise. We asked for the bill, nothing was comped (no effort to make things right, not even a free mezze we ordered for $15). We paid, tipped her 20%. While leaving, the hostess apologized, said this is the first time a party came with their own music/sound system, she agreed the noise was bad, but "there was nothing they could do". Well... the manager could have done something but chose not to. Speaks volumes.
