   Disappointing birthday meal out. Portion sizes were small, and the food was bland. Staff didn’t seem to know what food was available The butternut and lentil Wellington that we had seen on the menu on their website wasn’t on the menu at the pub. We were told the website needed updating! The only vegan alternative was a burger. Then we found a separate pie menu on the table, and the vegan wellington was on it. We queried it with the staff, and lo and behold it was available! Unfortunately the pastry was rock hard and the filling bland. It was served with a tiny but quite nice salad and a few bits of greasy potato. Partner had beer battered cod & fries. Had to order more fries as there were hardly any on the plate, but we weren’t charged for them. Overall a disappointing evening, and won’t be returning.

   Booked a table for 3 people for lunch on 25 September through Open Table App which confirmed my reservation. Arrived around 1pm to be told the oven had broken that morning so no food could be served! No attempt had been made to contact me beforehand to let me know despite giving telephone contact details on booking. Followed up with an email to website and to date have heard nothing! Appalling service - they obviously don’t care about customers or repeat business! Will not be returning!

   Very poor we booked a table for 4.30 we wanted a Sunday roast only to be told thay had run out of roast dinners seems very early in the day to run out of what would probably be the most meal on the menu

   First time here. We booked a table for a Friday lunchtime, and as we were the first ones in, we thought we might not have needed to, but it soon filled up. The dark wood decor gave it that traditional pub feel, and I could imagine it being really cosy on a cold day. We had warm welcome as soon as we came through the door, which was a great first impression. We went for the lunch deal of a meal and a drink for £11. My husband had the plant burger, and I paid an extra £1 and went for the steak sandwich. Both came with chips and both were excellent. We will definitely be coming back!

   Started to get back to how it was a few years ago.. Good atmosphere and food was excellent.. just a little expensive so we don't go as often as we would like.

    We reserved a table for 2 people at The White Hart for 8pm on Friday 14th June 2024. The booking was confirmed by email, and we also received a text message asking to confirm the booking which was done. On arrival at the White Hart we told a member of staff behind the bar that we had a table reservation for 8pm. He disappeared and when he came back dropped the bomb shell that they were no longer serving meals and the kitchen was closed. From where we were stood, we witnessed several tables where people were eating and a 70th birthday celebration. We did feel that it was a last-minute decision to close the kitchen as coincidently it was first night of Euro 2024 which was also been shown in the pub. There was very little in a form of apology, complimentary drink or offer of where we might seek an alternative meal on a Friday night. You had our contact details, please at least have the decency to contact us that you are cancelling our reservation rather than leaving it until we turn up to be told. We are not local and had already travelled for 5 hours in horrendous weather and were left at the last minute to look for an alternative. Not really a warm welcome
