The Waxins moved from Sweden to America over a decade ago and as they settled themselves in and the years passed, the family felt that there was something missing in their life. After careful thought and consideration they decided that it was time for America to enjoy the full Swedish experience when it comes to food and design. Their vision was to create a second home for themselves and all of our guests. They have strived and succeeded in making Waxin’s a go to spot for authentic Swedish and American food and craft cocktails in a beautiful atmosphere.

This is now one of my new favorite places in Naples. Really love the ambience. Food was excellent, and so was the service. We had a wonderful evening.

It was our first time at Waxin's in Naples and wow - it was fabulous! Our server Renata gave us great suggestions for cocktails, starters and main dinners - which we both ordered and loved!

Having an ethnic based restaurant is a nice addition to the Naples food scene. Something different than steak and pasta. We ordered as many Swedish dishes as we could. We had the Toast Skagen which was excellent; the Beef Rydberg and Wallenbergare, which were very good. We added 2 side salads which were large and well dressed. Then for dessert we had the cinnamon bun and raspberry tart, both very nice. For cocktails we tried the Pink Potion, Raspberry Lemondrop and Swedish 75; all were very good. The prices of the menu items were reasonable.

This was our second time dining since Waxin's opened this year. The food was fresh and delicious. The menu is interesting, and we hope to try more of it. The noise level, however, increased during the meal and we did not know that there would be a DJ spinning tunes in the restaurant. This was the only negative.

Let’s start with the good stuff: we were a table of five and ordered appetisers to share , including the toasted flat bread with Swedish butter, (Skagen), beetroot tartare and Nordic ceviche, they were all excellent. For mains we had the Swedish meatballs - which were good, and tasty and the cod, Swedish style, which was very good. Not so good: the wine list and cocktails were ridiculously overpriced. The cheapest bottle of wine was $80 and all but a couple were over $100. We chose a decent Sancerre at $98. We all had different desserts. The strawberry shortcake sounded yummy - it was not. It looked, and tasted apparently, like the chef had cut up a cheap Swiss role. I had the raspberry and lemon tart which was pretty tasteless. My husband had the chocolate with jubilee cherry (ice cream) which he really enjoyed. The most annoying part of the evening was when arrived, on time for our reservation, we were told that because our entire party wasn’t there yet, they wouldn’t seat us. There was no pre-seating area and although we could see our table, which was obviously ready we were told we could not take our seats. The bar was full so no seating there. We had to stand at the concierge desk - in everyone’s way! for 15 minutes while one of our friend drove around trying to find a parking space. It was my birthday and I was very disappointed by the welcome we got. It didn’t get our celebration off to a very good start. When we were finally seated our server was Irena. She was lovely; knowledgeable and very attentive - so thank Irena! The restaurant has been well done out. The decor’ is nice and it had a fun atmosphere. The location is good, but in the evening parking can be a nightmare. Waxim’s really needs to iron out some of its issues. We had good night in the end and would give if a second chance. The bill came to around $100 a head. The poor service at check in and the tasteless desserts will certainly need addressing.

First time they’re tonite. Sat outside which was very nice. Pretty place. Sone confusion on where they were seating us when we checked in but otherwise Deb service was good. Had a very good charcuterie board with delicious cheeses abc I ordered the side Caesar D’s had which was huge and enough for sharing with the table. My bolognese was very tasty and ample in portion. My husband got the ground veal patty which tasted like an oversized meatball so a little strange but guess it’s a Swedish dish and another got the cod which was simply prepared. Did not say got dessert.!” Not sure we’d return because of limited choices we like on menu but not because food wasn’t good because it was if you like that type of fare offered. Also firm on no substitutions which I found rather odd.
