   Sunday lunch in January 2025 - as part of a birthday gift voucher booking: Excellent food - particularly the tender and perfectly cooked roast beef, herb crusted trout, and call out for the cheese cake (fashioned to look like a 'cheese'!).    My family and I had Christmas Day lunch at the Waterwheel. Everything about it was excellent. The communication, the organisation, and the assistance with the special needs of one of our party (dairy intolerance) was handled with care and utter professionalism. The food was absolutely perfect. One of the nicest meals I've ever had. This was backed up by absolutely excellent service as well. All of the staff were friendly, attentive, and very professional. I will certainly be hoping to come back again. Top notch, and very highly recommended.

   This was our first Christmas lunch away from the family and frankly it was extremely disappointing. To start there was no Christmas atmosphere, no music, no welcome drink, poor quality crackers, and generally a feeling of being rushed. As far as the meal itself is concerned, the experience was mixed. The appetiser, starter and sorbet were good but our turkey ballotine was poor. The turkey was dry, the vegetables were just boiled with no garnishing. They had no flavour, looked tired and were served tepid. Additionally, the gravy was thin and bland. On the positive side the cheesecake was nice but the Christmas pudding was hard and uninteresting. It also gave me indigestion later. In summary, this was at best an ordinary meal, with no Christmas feel but at a premium price.

   Recently, I enjoyed a magnificent roast for a gathering of eight. From the first glance to the last bite, it was a feast that delighted every sense and turned a meal into a celebration.

   Brilliant and informative presentation of champagne from monopole, match with excellent food and served with charm and grace. Not the drink talking as I was the designated driver.

   Fantastic Champagne Tasting Evening on Thurs 28th. The information about the champagne was really interesting and the tasting servings very generous. The Chefs had created some amazing food to complement the flavours as well.

   We had a wonderful champagne tasting experience. There were 6 different full gasses of champagne with matching plates. The food was first rate (tasty, interesting and well matched to the wine). Overall an excellent evening!

    Amazing food at the Waterwheel. We had the duck and the risotto. Both extremely tasty, duck very small portion though. Desserts were also very flavourful. Our server Piotr was very good, professional, and very attentive to our needs. There was only us and one other couple in the restaurant at the time so we got to choose where we wanted to sit. We chose next to the waterwheel which was lovely. A truly great evening.
