   Chose Vivante because of its proximity to The Palladium, where we were seeing an 8:00 show.  Arrived promptly at 6:15 for our reservation. Did not receive our dinner until 7:20 even though we ordered immediately. Was told that “something odd is going on in the kitchen. The chef walked out.” No further explanation, but it does indeed appear that no professional prepared our food. I ordered the steak burger (medium) and pomme frites. The burger was rare, approaching raw. The fries were nearly inedible as they were dripping in grease and cold.  The waitress never checked back and we had run out of time so nibbled a bit just to have something in my stomach. My partner ordered the green goddess salad with chicken. No complaints about it, nor compliments.  The best part of the meal was dessert, a surprise treat sent by good friends that were sitting a few tables away.  We expected a delicious meal and excellent service. We received neither.

   Olivia was an incredible server! She made appropriate wine suggestions for the meal I chose. She knew the menu very well. We appreciated how patient and thoughtful she was as we are from out of town and had never been to Vivante. My brother compliments the bar for the wonderful Old Fashioned they crafted for him. We will most definitely be back next time we come to Carmel!! Thank you so much Olivia and Vivante!

   Only 3 tables in restaurant were occupied. Took over an hour to get food which was awful

   This was our second time dining at this restaurant and our experience again was superb. The staff were very attentive to our needs, and the food was delicious. Again the atmosphere was perfect. The noise level was minimal again. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a very special evening out.

   Wonderful evening with family before a show at the Palladium. The food was very good and the seasonal specials were amazing.

   We dined in a seasonal chalet so the noise level was private. The experience was wonderful. Two heaters kept the space just the right warmth. Olivia offered great recommendations, particularly for wine. Highly recommend.

    Great brunch menu. Wonderful service. Wish they had a more extensive brunch cocktail menu but everything was superb!
