Vinarius is an Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar in Little Italy San Diego. We offer an extensive wine list with wines coming from different regions of the world; the best meat and cheese board with Italian cured meats and different cheeses to pair with our wines. Our chef Alex makes homemade pasta enriched with our homemade sauces, entrees, pizza, different appetizers to choose from, and desserts that pair well with our port wines and after-dinner drinks. You definitely have to try our daily specials!
Our cozy full bar is also the perfect place to enjoy your drink and food while watching some sports!

    Grateful that prior Open Table reviews led us to this local spot. We arrived from the East Coast and booked for our New Year’s Eve dinner. Staff was attentive, food was delicious. Nice ambiance and quiet atmosphere to enjoy conversation.

    Everything was great ! Was here for new years eve ( birthday celebration ) My only complaint is there is only 1 bathroom other than that is was 5⭐️ !

    How was Vinarius? Pretty disappointing. We had a party of 7 on a Sunday night recently. The good: we were seated promptly and offered drinks soon after. We had a friendly waiter who answered our questions. And the end of the meal was marked by one of the best tiramisu desserts ever. The bad: the entrees. Wow. Overpriced and pretty pedestrian. The wild boar pasta dish was just fusilli with a heavy creme sauce and not much protein. The pizza was fine, but nothing special. The worst was the panatella salads my wife and I ordered: nothing but a spring mix with two pieces of toasted bread on the side, swimming in balsamic vinaigrette. For the benefit of the chef, panatella salad includes olive oil, sliced cherry or plum tomatoes, cucumber, shallots, pesto, red wine vinegar, and small cubed Italian bread cubes that have been roasted and then tossed in the vinegar/olive oil mixture before plating. I usually give excellent reviews on Open Table. Vinarius, however, is a place to skip.

    The four of us had a great dinner and chose a few of the tasty pastas and a pizza. We also had the frito misto to start and it was delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. Would return for another meal 100%.
