Had to wait ten minutes to order Food for my 5 year old son. They were more interested in serving alcohol as the football was starting. I was chatting to a couple next to me, I said it’s annoying being ignored while people are doing nothing. I was heard by who I assume was the bar manager, he asked what I said. I repeated it, and he said I shouldn’t be rude. I explained I was talking to the couple next to me, and so was not being rude. However, being ignored at the bar by his staff (without someone even saying “I will be with you in a few minutes”) was rude and poor customer service. Rather than apologising about my wait and understanding from a customers point of view that no communication is being ignored and poor customer service, he went straight into defence/attack mode. He is not cut out for bar/restaurant work. As his customer service is shocking. Even as a black card member I won’t be eating there if he is working. He needs to be retrained by management or moved into another role that isn’t customer facing.

The food was delicious so thank you to the kitchen team. Unfortunately the service was poor. The staff were either untrained, under trained or just didn’t care about their jobs apart from the person who was in charge who was very organised and efficient. When we arrived for our pre booked meal, we first had to wait 10 mins while they had a staff meeting. Then another member of staff arrived late. The person leading the meeting then told them it was unacceptable on the restaurant floor. We then waited 15 minutes for our drinks to be told by the staff ‘we don’t have any pina to make your drink’. We have been to many Village hotels and had food but unfortunately this time it was let down by the staff who didn’t seem interested or like previously said were untrained. Thank you to the kitchen staff and manager for sorting us out. Our feedback will be passed onto the hotel when we receive the phone call back from the manager.

Arrived at location, no reserved table as it was presumed we'd cancel because of the weather (why?) and no starters were ready. Had to ask for a plate from behind the bard when they were. On a previous visit the person behind the bar came over to our table to explain how the system works and what choices were available. This didn't happen occasion. Sta on a table next a large family group who were offered the privilege of having the meal explained to them but then decided that rather than sit down they'd spend the next 30 minutes standing about two feet away from the table we were sat at affording us no privacy whatsoever. Main course took at about 45 minutes to arrive, actually quite nice. The two young waitresses were helpful and pleasant. Deserts looked like left overs from breakfast so didn't bother.

Terrible, booked a table online and when we arrived it was full as the match was on. We where then told our reserved sign had been removed by someone. Finally seated 45 mins later for at best! pub food and twice the price. This used to be an experience coming here but now just feels like an expensive sports bar. Wont be returning.

The village has really gone downhill since last time i was there, now looks and feels like one of the old Pontins holiday camp restaurants, except the food was better at Pontins. The food was awful, most of the starters were fish and left out on a table in the heat and the soup was coloured water with salt added to taste. The main meal was just as bad the meat was covered in fat and the Yorkshire pudding was like a hard biscuit and for sweet you had the choice of a croissant or muffin. Service was very slow also and there didn't seem to be any supervisor around. For the prices they charge you can get far better at many other places, so won't be going there again.

We stayed here about 3 years ago & had a pleasant experience in the restaurant. It has now changed to more of a sport's bar which serves food. Nobody came to take our order & I couldn't get served at the bar so I went & found a staff member in the hotel reception area for help. Eventually a waitress appeared & we ordered our food. We then ordered a bottle of house white only to be told they had sold out!! Food was lovely, so compliments to the chef, but service awful. This is run as a bar which sells food, not a restaurant.

The Sunday Carvery has been taken off the menu which is a big shame! There did not appear to be enough staff on & there were long delays between the mains coming out!

Food was great as always but the service was poor. Shame as we frequent this resturant alot and the service is nowhere like it used to be. Were likely to return half as often as we used to.
