   The food was very good as was the friendly and efficient service especially given we had to be in & out as we were heading to a show. The unfortunate issue was that at a 5.30pm booking with a maximum 20 people in the restaurant, the “doof doof” chill/house music was way too loud. SO loud in fact that it was difficult to have a conversation amongst the 4 of us and Even more difficult to hear/ understand the service staff who for our table, were all quietly spoken thai people with fairly strong thai accents. Twice I requested that the music be turned down a touch so we could hear ourselves think ( not to mention have a reasonable conversation ) Twice my request was ignored. A disappointing experience to what could have been a really lovely 5 star dinner. Would we go back? Well despite the lovely food and service - No. Not until VELA gets its background dining music sorted - especially for early bird diners. VELA needs to understand its mix of customers better - especially those living at West Village and save the loud “doof doof” music for the after 10pm cocktail fraternity. We were looking forward to a relaxing and positive dining experience at VELA. If we want head banging music, we’ll pay to go to a Pearl Jam concert! Please note we have passed our experience onto a number of other like-minded people who will now consider alternative eating venues at West Village.

   Food and drinks were great but it was very cold in the restaurant, would be good if they turned the aircon down. Otherwise a great experience!

   Overall very good spot with great value especially for the banquets. However throughout the night service team kept mistaking our orders, bringing us drinks we didn’t order or having to take dishes away from the table that weren’t ours. Additionally the beef satay skewers were very chewy, had to spit it out as it was well undercooked and hard to swallow. Albeit everything else was amazing and worth it.

   The experience overall was lovely. The restaurant design was beautiful especially the colour palate. The service was excellent with the staff being extremely attentive and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious and they brought us a complimentary birthday dessert. Will definitely be coming back.

   Great food, great service, had a special night of birthday celebration for my 3 years old daughter last night. we were all enjoyed it very much especially when we asked if they can provide any special treat for our littler birthday girl, they made it work with a lovely ice cream dessert with happy birthday written on. This hart warming action does really get to us with extra points. we will definitely come back and recommend to all my family and friends!

    Highly recommend this restaurant for its excellent food and service. It is a large space with music playing overhead. Reliant on good music selection which for the most part of our visit it was.
