We were a group of six people. The service was very good. Everyone was satisfied with the food. I thought it was great. I particular liked the rice dish.

The service was very good and so was the cassoulet. I would have preferred more garlic in the cassoulet.

I believe Jonathan was our server. He obviously needs more experience, but he needs to think a bit more. When I said I wanted a knife with my entree (the pasta), he at first gave me a steak knife. When he finally brought me a dinner knife, he failed to bring others a dinner knife as well, so we had to ask him to get more knives.

Vela is part of Meadows Retirement Community, Napa. It is open only to residents & their guests. The food is excellent with a choice of 6 entrees. The fish is fresh every day. The service staff are young students looking for experience in culinary service and/or serving senior adults. The ambiance is beautiful with wine country decor.

Everyone liked everything they had very much, but on several items, the chef was a bit heavy-handed with the amount of sauce or dressing. The service was excellent this evening.
