   Really enjoyed our meal here last evening; Went in after a film and were seated promptly (we did have reservations, a must in West Hartford Center on Saturday night); they are known for their wine list and did not disappoint, had a couple of glasses of Rioja (excellent) and my companion had her usual Chardonnay. We shared the Pea Fritters which were amazing, a very unique app with a lovely sweet sauce reminiscent of Tamarind. She had the risotto, which she really enjoyed, and I had the steak, which was very good, and a reasonable portion (no one needs to eat a pound of meat). It was served with delicious roasted carrots and mashed potatoes, also very good. We finished up with coffee/tea, and shared the yummy chocolate tart. The restaurant has a great urban vibe and is very loud. Great service and very attentive staff and management. You definitely will not regret eating here!

   Always a great time, do the wine pairing I don’t know who picks the wines but we do the wine pairing every time we eat here.

   Union Kitchen provided us with a delightful and plentiful array of omelets for a Sunday Brunch. Our server who also was the hostess/manager was very pleasant and responsive. I chose scrambled eggs with some cheddar cheese and the eggs were soft and if such a word applies - yummy! My husband and nephew selected the Norwegian Omelet, which glistened with freshness and a decorative as well as bright, green salad. The omelet provided us with ample Norwegian salmon atop an appealing fold of eggs. Our fourth guest, a lovely friend, enjoyed the Seacoast Mushroom Omelet, a treat for the palette and for the eyes with again, a bountiful serving of eggs and of mushrooms. Each of us also had freshly squeezed orange juice, a rare treat, and a welcome one. We hope that the restaurant, which is surrounded by many in the Center, will flourish. A suggestiion or two for the manager/owner - while chutney jam was a unique and tasty choice of jams for my English Muffin, a broader selection of jams would be a nice addition. Also, if some tables were clustered together more versus lined up in rows, I think the ambiance would be more cozy . Last, the Parker Rolls with cheese were delicious and again a unique addition to the omelets but a broader choice of breads would be welcome.
