   The place was packed for the holiday weekend, but sat outside under the warmers and it was very pleasant. We ordered the coconut shrimp(a fav), rack of ribs, macadamia crusted halibut and thai shrimp and scallops. All were delicious. Ended with the Pina colada cake which is wonderful. A big thumbs up.

   The food was good, and our server was great. But despite arriving on time for our reservation (that I booked over a month ago,) we waited 40 minutes for our table. Checked Open Table during our wait and saw they were still accepting reservations for our party size "now." Not sure that we will be back anytime soon due to this mismanagement.

   I wanted to celebrate my wife’s birthday and thought of Tommy Bahama and used a $50 TB gift card. I was looking forward to the plantains that come with the taco entrees and was extremely sad. Oh well, I guess no one likes plantains… Otherwise, it was business as usual.

   Dining at Tommy Bahamas in Newport is always wonderful. The food and service are absolutely, and consistently, superb. The food is fresh, delicious, and original. The ambiance is also lively and beautiful. We were disappointed though that there is a new corporate policy that they won't serve ordered food for dogs on the patio. This reverses a multi-decade policy which old-time customers like myself (more than 26 years) really enjoyed. Please reconsider!

   Tommy Bahama Newport Beach is one of our very favorite restaurants! Dining there last evening was another wonderful time! Food was delicious, service impeccable & atmosphere very cozy. We were seated in a smaller room with tables nicely separated, so even though others were seated around us, it still seemed intimate and private. Parmesan Crusted Sanibel Chicken & the Filet Mignon Salad were our entrees & were yummy. Had a very enjoyable evening!
