Welcome to Toloache (pronounced toh-lo-AH-tchay), chef-owner Julian Medina’s contemporary Mexican bistro located in the heart of the Theater District. Toloache is named after a flowering plant famed in Mexico for its use in love potions. We hope that when you dine with us you too will fall under the spell of chef Medina’s creative cooking, which incorporates seasonal and natural ingredients and more than a dozen types of chilies. Our festive, two-story space features a guacamole and ceviche bar, a wood-burning oven, and an exceptional tequila list, along with elegant decorative elements imported from Mexico. We looking forward to seeing you soon.

We love this neighborhood place. Great margaritas and super authentic flavors. The best approach to the menu IMHO) is to get a cocktail w:guac and chips while you contemplate the near future. While nibbling and sipping, pick a selection of tacos, ceviche, appetizers and other small plates adequate for your party. We love the carne asada, de lechon and camaron tacos. Oh, the birria and consommé is amazing too. Just go, and bring at least four people. Make reservations.

We had reservations and were running late to the restaurant and the hostesses could not have been any nicer as well as the manager to accommodate us. Top notch service with excellent cocktails, and food.

Overall great experience - and a wonderful atmosphere!! The food was very very good - minus the lukewarm temperature of our quesadilla. Drinks were delicious! We ate at the bar and our bartender wasn’t so warm n’ fuzzy. Made us feel a little uncomfortable, she didn’t seem happy and we felt it.

This restaurant has excellent service, amazing food and great drinks. It's close to Times Square but despite the chaos of the surrounding area it's a chill dining vibe. This is the best dining experience I've had in my many trips to NYC!

Going in, I expected a lot after reading all the reviews, but this wasn’t worth it at all. The tacos and churros were decent but stay away from the enchiladas. I don’t know what’s going on there!

Save your money, and go to an authentic taco stand for much less money. The fish tacos were basic, with a mayonnaise based sauce that didn't taste authentic. (Yes, I have lived in Mexico.) Very expensive.
