Tick Tock Diner, an iconic symbol of the American diner with locations in both Midtown Manhattan and Clifton, New Jersey, has mastered the art of casual dining, providing customers with high quality ingredients, generous portions at a reasonable price and a comfortable, family-friendly atmosphere that keeps them coming back year after year.
The 280 seat Midtown Manhattan location opened in 1997 at 481 8th Avenue (corner of 34th Street), across the street from Penn Station. Tick Tock Diner has long been known for its American comfort food. Today, it remains true to tradition while offering more dining choices than ever before on its extensive menu, accented with Italian, Greek and Tex-Mex influences. Onion rings awful. Chicken tenders blah, as were French fries. Shake was just ok for almost $10. Service was excellent

Our server, Jose, was the best. He was attentive, entertaining and patient. Her ember our four orders without even writing them down. He came back to check on us constantly. The food was good and the nearness to public transportation excellent.

There was a large party in our section so the staff was very overwhelmed and not available to help us. Also, the pulled pork sandwich was the worst I have ever had, food quality was awful. The milkshakes were good but really small.

I made a reservation for 13 people so that I had a place to eat lunch with 13 people. When we arrived at our reservation time the hostess would not seat us together and we had to sit separately on opposite sides of the restaurant. She was less than willing to be accommodating. If I knew I would have to split up my party I would have chosen a restaurant with much better food

Hostess and wait staff seem harried and uptight. Our waiter couldn’t have been more grumpy. They seat you fat, serve you fast, food is good, decent pricing for NYC! Great location across the street from Penn Station.

It was exactly what I wanted (diner style chicken Caesar wrap) I’d return if I were looking for that again. I’m not sure I would seek it out under different circumstances

Made a reservation for 6 pm (party of 12). We arrived approximately 5-min early and were seated at 6:24 pm. This is usually a great spot to grab a meal…Don’t think I’d come back with a large party.
