   We booked 3 weeks in advance a table for 4 at 7:15. We arrived and were promptly seated. It was busy with a buzzy atmosphere. It took ages for our order to be taken. We were told “it’s really busy, so there’s a wait for food” 10 minutes later after our initial order was taken the waiter came back with menus. One of the starters had gone, along with the main course that 3 of us had selected. We ordered again. We waited around 45 minutes for the starters but the bread that came with the ham hock terrine wasn’t chargrilled it was cremated. At 8:55pm I did politely say to a waitress “we’ve been here since 7:15, we will leave at 9 if our mains aren’t here”. Our main courses then appeared. I felt desperately sorry for the polite young waiting staff, and asked to speak to the manager who immediately came over and deducted 50% off the food which was the correct thing to do. However, our expectations were not managed appropriately throughout the evening and I feel that if I’d not asked to speak to someone no action or apology would’ve been forthcoming. I have eaten here 3 or 4 times previously and this time the experience left all of us feeling underwhelmed to say the least.

   Was lucky to get a booking at this very busy place for 1.15 on Sunday 24th November. Food was fabulous had the Lamb Shank from the specials menu with extra stuffing and cauliflower cheese. Delicious food and attentive service 3 Sunday lunches served and presented well and 3 desserts. Glad I booked early as it got a little noisy later on when full but overall would recommend and would return.

   Superb, delicious food and excellent service. Only downside was it is A little noisy. Will definitely be back.

   Great Sunday roast, nice that we now get extra vegetables, at no charge. Great service as always.

   It was fine, the food was okay and the service was very active. But it felt as though we were being pressured to order by the staff, being pressured to order MORE food and MORE drinks constantly, we had 3 different people (all nice enough) rotating around us repeatedly asking us if we’d been served, if we want to order more and etc. The food was okay but nowhere near good value for money, we ordered 2 mains and 2 drinks and the bill came to £89 which is extortionate for “okay” food. Probably wouldn’t go back again.

   Went here for Sunday lunch. Good service, no real waits and food very good. We enjoyed it. It isn’t amazingly wow but it’s good quality and well cooked and presented. We would go back.

    Sunday roast was good Disappointed that the venue does not accept valid proof of ID for alcoholic drinks. Found out when there that their policy is only drivers license or passport. Sadly, I don’t think it is good practice to carry your passport with you at all times and driver licenses are only issued to those planning on driving. Maybe review their diversity and inclusion policy and include the acceptance of other forms of legal proof of age. The ID provided was a Citizencard, widely used and accepted and legal proof. Service was okay but would take orders for food they didn’t have, and then bring the food we don’t order to the table. Perhaps it was their first day. In summary, it’s okay, not fantastic, and needs to be more inclusive.
